I am really interested to see pics of these 275 tires on the rim and shots of the car from the back.

LATEST WORD: "Some time in April."

My first post was on March 5, and at that time the answer was "within 30 days."

I think they'll be along soon, but I can't get strung along any more. I'm driving on my snow/ice tires in March. I need new tires now.

I guess I need to get the Eagle F-1 tires again.

Oh well. Perhaps a better tire will be available next year. I'm really dissappointed and amazed that 24 months after these cars came out, there's not a single tire representing an improvement over the original. Aren't there well over 10,000 SRT-8's on 20" tires by now? With Magnums, Chargers, and 300Cs there's got to be close to 20,000 people needing tires. I realize that's not huge, but there's more choices available for Vipers than for us.

next year........

Well JMatt you waited this long. Might as well give it another 30 days and see what happens!

Looks like I am going with the BF Goodrich KDW II's with the funky tread in size 255-35/20 up front and 275/35-20 in the rear (maybe 275 all around). I don't know why people are shying away from the 35 series tires. The only thing that it affects is the speedometer by about .1 mph/60 mph.....big deal. A 35 series tire vs a 40 series tire in a 275 width is 13.75 mm shorter which is about 1/2 inch overall...which would shorten the sidewall 1/4 inch at the top of the tire and 1/4 inch at the bottom of the tire...when measuring the height of a tire of coarse. I really don't think it's a big deal since the worst comment that I have heard is that it affects your speedometer. Who knows... I am a little delirious at this point.

Is there a weight difference between a 35 and 40 series tire? I could see that a shorter tire/wheel as a performance benefit.

However,

I would only go with a 35 series tire if my car was lowered another 1/2-1"

The geometry between the sidewall thickness and the gap between the tire and fender are perfectly balanced with a 40 series.

So for me it's appearance.

I've said it before. I'd like to see this combo - may I will even use it after seeing your car.

However, I want to correct some errors:

The F-1 is 29.1 inches tall. The BFG is 27.6 inches tall. Difference is 1.5 inches. That lowers your car .75 inches and leaves an additional gap of .75 inches all the way around the tire in your wheel wells.

The look is essentially what was on the SRT-8 One Lap of America Car.

Also, the F-1's are 719 revs per mile. The BFG is 755 revs per mile. The difference is 5%, which is 3 miles per hour at 60 mph. That is, your speedo will read 63, but you'll only be going 60. (You'll also claim better gas mileage because your car will think it's getting 21mpg when in fact you are only going 20 miles. Your odometer will also rack miles up faster. Although that's not probably a big deal. Your odometer will read 105,000 miles by the time it should only read 100,000 miles.

I still want to see it though - as I might be willing to try it myself.
