Exciting new tire option

For everyone looking for a true performance alternative to the F-1's, I finally found the first new alternative that is NOT an SUV or truck tire.

Nitto Tire now has a 255 45R20 and a 275 40R20 available.
Nitto – Fueled by Enthusiasts
The 275 is not even listed on the website yet, but the product code number is 203180.

Pirelli also makes a 275 40R20 in the Pirelli P Zero Rosso line, but there's not a corresponding 255 to fit the fronts. With the Nitto we can now get 4 matching tires to fit.

Great to know JMatt—especially since I just put all new tires on mine.

It really is nice as our options have been so limited. Thanks for sharing this information.

JMatt, do you think these would be better than the Toyo Proxes 4 that many people have tried? 275/40R20 all around with no rubbing.

Personally, I'm going to buy the 255/45R20 for my fronts and the 275/40R20 for the rear.

I believe these are more purpose built for our cars. Nitto is a division of Toyo. I don't want to say anything I shouldn't, but I will say that I am buying the Nitto and not the Toyo.

Also, there MAY be (as previously rumored) a drag radial available from Nitto in 20". A barage of e-mails asking for drag radials in 275 40R20 wouldn't hurt......

JMatt: you seem to be 'in the know' when it comes to Nitto. I found your comment interesting about the invo series tire not being a truck/SUV tire. Do you konw if the same is true about the 420S tires - every where I've seen them, they are listed as truck/SUV tires. This is the only thing that has concerned me about these tires thus far. Your help is most appreciated.

Looking forward to your review of the invo series!!!

I have had nitto 555 on my other car for years now and they are OK. My only complaint is that there not sticky enough, which is good if you like longer lasting tires. I got about 40k miles on mine with perfect tread wear. But for performance they are better tires out there. I do like how the tread looks though. Thanks for the info.

The Invo tire looks very interesting and promising. I remember some time back when fatchance put them on his C and gave a report about them.

NotYet....I believe my Nitto 420S tires (255/45/20) are for passenger cars. Although I'm not into the racing, I really like their performance on the variety of asphalt/concrete roads, wet or dry. Not much road noise either.

Yea, I won't be racing either. Just a few spririted runs from Point A to Point B

The 420S thread was already a very progressive tread pattern. I'm not sure I could handle the iNVO tread pattern. hehe Its definitely WAY out there.

i have 420s on 20's (need to post pics) and after road force balance they are very good tires. I was also concerned about the SUV deal but all the options were SUV. Forget the SUV classification it is on there because the can handle the weight load.
