SRT-8 factory wheel question

Is there any difference in the front and rear wheels or are they all the same?

Thanks!

Depends on if you have RSA's or F1's

RSA's are all the same size. F1's are bigger in the back.

The rims are the same size all the way around. The tires are different if you have the F1's like the above says.

Are you talking about the rims or tires or both?

Well, I just went and picked up my new to me 06 SRT-8. I live in Kansas City and bought the car in South Dakota. When I got there the rear tires were bald....I definitely wanted new ones. They agreed and put on 255/45/20 Toyo Proxes on the rear. Well, I wanted all 4 tires to be the same so I convinced them to throw in another set. I decided to get the Proxes 275/40/20's but they were not in stock so they are shipping them to me. Obviously these will be my rear tires, the question I have is this......

The rear wheels have the new 255's on them, can I just take those wheels, put them in the front (no remounting/balancing)

That way I can take the wheels currently on the front (Goodyear 245's) andn put the 275's on thoses wheels?

Basically, if all four wheels are teh same (say, 20"x9") and have the same offset I should be OK.

Thanks for the help!

So you want to put the 255’s on the front and your 275’s on the rear? There should be no problem doing this. I have 255’s all around and have no trouble. The SRT Engineers don’t recommend going above the 245’s on the front as they claim extreme driving conditions or maneuvers could cause trouble. No one that has gone to the 255’s on front has report anything like that. Hope this answers your question.

BTW....did you read JMatt's recent post (see below) he will be doing the identical size set up you will be doing.
