I'm kind of hoping someone will do that too. Anyone got a hook up?

i got a spare tire in my car when i bought my SRT8, but the thing; it was a full size rime, so basicallu i lost 75% of my trunk space. well ... loosing trunk space is much better than running flat out of no where with no spare tire to rescue me

I don't like the fact that a full size rim is our only option, but I do think it's better than nothing at all. At least I would have a choice (had they given us U.S. guys a spare.)

If I had to haul something I'd just take it out and chance it on the few occasions I need to haul that much.

I could just put it back in when I'm not hauling stuff.

I could also have to option of selling it to some guy who rashed his wheel. Or kept it in my garage IF I RASHED one of my wheels. *knocks on wood*

Ok I did a little research. I am ok with a full size tire because I don't want to be stuck on the side of the road with my family. I don't know how much a SRT rim cost so I looked to Tirerack. Cheapest rim is an ASU MU1 20x9 @ $259.00 and Avon Tech tire 245/45ZR/20 @ $158.00. Wheelmax.com had Davaj Razor in black 20x8.5 for $188.00 and Hankook Ventus 245/40/20 at $198.00.

I think I will go with the Davaj for $188.00 and the Avon for 158.00 costing $346.00 total. Seems the cheapest to me. Shipping might eat you up so maybe getting the Hankooks @ $196.00 might be a wash.

Or we could get a group of 4 together and buy a set like this:
http://www.300cforums.com/forums/par...take-offs.html

I'm pretty sure that will come with the tires too, we would need to call and ask. I'm in for $212.50 plus shipping if we can get a couple others.

I hear you VVV. I wish they would have given us a factory option if we wanted the full sized spare or not. I actually got an extra wheel and do the same dance........ if I need to carry stuff I leave it in the garage. PIA sure, but not nearly as big as the whopper PIA of having a flat and being stranded.

1960LesPaul, just came from the Chrysler dealer this morning and found the price of the SRT rim to be a little over $700 dollars and thats without the tire pressure sensor and then you have to add the price of a tire! Good luck with an alternative!

Thanks for the update. I guess I will be going the aftermarket route at half the price.
