Tomorrow I am taking my my 300 SRT8 to a diffrent chrysler dealer to have a remote start installed "dealer threw it in on my deal" and I hope to get them to do the trans and rotor tsb's for me as well. When I mentioned the trans tsb, the service guy told me he has "never heard of it" and he would have to get the drivabilty guy to drive it to see it anything needs done or not. I feel like I am screwed as well?!

I plan on taking printed copies and hitting them over the head with them.

any other ideas or input would be great!
Take your printed copies and ask to speak with the service manager. Don't waste time with the "service advisors" up front that write up the work orders.

Let the service manager know that you are a car guy who wants to find a good service dept. for your new performance car. If you are happy with his response and his willingness to do the TSB's, give them a chance.

If not, find another dealership with a service manager who will take care of you.

Just visited my "new" dealer (Dodge) as they Chrysler dealer was a pain to work with (slow, unaccomodating, made you wonder if they really did anything to your car, I felt like I was imposing if I asked them to do something). I described the problem and handed the TSB to the advisor. He said, "let me make sure we have the parts and we can get this done today."

They did and they did. Awesome!!!!

wow, my experience was the exact opposite of these. i took my car in at 12,000 miles and just said "the brakes are squealing". i knew abotu the TSB but didn't mention it. the rep brought up the TSB and offered to switch the rotors. they had the parts in stock and it was done by the next morning. it was no hassle whatsoever. this was at DARCARS in Fairfax, VA.

On the very off chance you happen to be in Kansas City and related to the always well-auto'ed KC Trends, drop me a note and I will get you and your friend taken care of with no problem. If not, then follow the sage advice posted previously in this thread!

Ok so heres the story....

I dropped the car off Tuesday morning; my appointment was to get the factory remote start installed "it was thrown in on the car deal". I had mentioned the trans tsb on the phone, and was told they had never heard of the problem.

So anyways I show up to drop off the car, I spoke with the service writer told him I was there to have the remote start installed and also had a couple of issues I wanted to have looked at. I told him the trans had a sluggish shift into 2nd and I heard there was a fix out for it, I also told him my brakes were squeaky after under light braking after there were warm. Also had a little issue with my ash tray not wanting to close?. So the service writer makes notes in the system and I am on my way. As a backup I printed all of the TSB's and had them folded neatly and placed on the console between the shifter and cup holders.

The day slips by, at about 5pm I hadn't heard anything so I decided to call and check on the progress. The service writer told me the remote start was fairly involved and it would be wed morning before it would be complete. There was no mention of the other issue at all, and honestly I decided to just wait and see what would happen. The next morning arrives and I get a call about 9am asking if I could come up and drop off my spare key, I guess they have to reprogram everything for the remote start. So I show up and I am told, we have a few hours let on the remote start, however we went ahead and re-flashed your computer for the transmission problem, we also installed all new slotted rotors, and new brake pads, and also there was a TSB on the ash tray deal "new to me" that they preformed. So I was very happy!

On a side note, while I was dropping the key off I noticed a mopar intake on the wall. Of course they had it in stock so I had them stick it on while it was there. Jury is still out on the new sound from that sucker.

Anyways, all in all it was a good experience.

Great story. All you need to do now is post the dealership name, and city/state. Sounds like a real winner!!!

Off topic.....sorry.. I had asked for the "New" TSB TCM and on the receipt it stated that they performed TSB #18-031-05? I asked about it they said that the new flash wont work on my car. BUT about a week later I noticed that in autostick it changes gears on its own at or near redline. Does that mean that the computer wrote the wrong TSB code? Also in auto and autostick the Trans. shifts the 1-2 at about 5800 rpms is that the way its supposed to be?

my receipt said 18-031-05 also. i asked about it and dealer said, "no matter the tsb, we'll flash with the most recent update." when i'm in autostick it automatically shifts when i reach 6000 rpms.

Now that is a great dealer, you asked about tit and they said they would flash the most recent update. I knew Allen Samuels was good, but man, I got to go there more often. That service advisor is pretty cute, too!
