no offense but it looks like crap...are you trying to compete with the off road capabilities of the GC SRT-8?

I think I like the look on the rear but seems to beefy up front, as for width of tire on the rim those should be just fine Ive got 295's on the cobra with the same width rim and have not had any issues nor would I expect to.

Halv48 has 295 40's on the just the back of his on stock rims. I think it looks better for some reason. They don't bulge as much. Very stock in appearance from the side.

you can fit a really wide tire on a really narrow rim but that doesnt mean it is suppose to be that way

it will cause the tire to wear unevenly over time due to the tire not being stretched as it was intended - a 295/40/20 is optimal for a 10" wide rim - fits perfect on there as I have done this on a truck before - im sure its perfectly safe and feels good but as I said the tires will more than likely last less time than if they were on a 10" rim - enough rambling lol

I'm not convinced that's safe. I'd be concerned the tires would squirm under hard cornering, and I wonder if they couldn't be made to unseat under either severe cornering, or just a harsh pothole.

Anyway - I hope they work out.

I just got the Toyo Proxes 4's installed on mine this morning. 245 45R20 on the front, 275 40R20 on the back.

Final note: Contact patch does not get any larger with wider tires. It simply gets wider side-to-side, but shorter front-to-back. Total contact square inches is purely a factor of pounds of weight on the tire divided by psi in the tire.

So you're saying there's no contact patch size difference from your 255 f1's to your proxes 4s? At least at 32 psi?

Kind of a bummer. How do they feel compared to your F1's on the street?

When are you going to the track for the real test?

your right - hard driving could cause the tire to unseat itself - you have to excuse me - i have a touring and i drive slow lol

Uhmm how do you figure this? the rim is not changing. Its stays 20" at most the tire is adding 1" to the overall diameter of the tire and rim.

I don't understand what is making the contact patch shorter front to back? I can understand PSI having an affect on the amount of rubber touching the ground(I let my PSI out to about 15-18 at the strip for traction), but for every day 32-35 PSI driving, what is changing?

less psi makes the bottom of the tire flatter so more tire is touching the ground front to back, if you have more psi that will make the flat spot on the bottom smaller and less will touch the ground.
