Hal,
Much respect to you and your car. Why, however, did you get RSA's with all the racing you do??? Do you find that they hook up really well? Just curious why you would go ahead and get big meats and then get the all-season choice - especially with you living in AZ? Your car looks great by the way, love those chromies.

Eric

Let us know if you guys have any rubbing problems with the new tires. Since you can't duplicate all driving conditions in a few days, keep us updated. Thanks

Same question. But isn't Hal a drag racer and not a road racer? And doesn't he use drag radials on 18's at the track? Looks like he's got the best of both worlds going on. Longer-lastin all-season, but meaty-wide tires for the street, and drag radials at the track.

Am I wrong Hal?

The reason some think the tire looks taller is with the 295/40/20 the shoulder of the tire is closer/equal to the side wall than the 255/45/20 which has the shoulder in more due to the narrower tread, .020" overall height difference is a little more than 1/64". It is mostly an optical illusion. The only real drawback with the tread being even with the sidewall is there may be a little more flex in the sidewall during hard cornering, but the overall ride will be better in day to day driving with a little more flex in the sidewall, this car is a daily driver so this works out in my favor, if I ever get the chance to hot lap this car on the track I probably would not push it hard enough to notice the turn in difference anyway.

I think these tires look great plus it gives you the ability to rotate them for longer wear.

Have there been any issues with the fronts rubbing during bumps, sharp turns or backing up?

This is my question also. I see the photo's of them on your car. And you say they work, but looking at them on my floor they look huge. I'm also concerned about the front tires fitting properly and not hitting the control arm. I don't see a whole lot of room there. Its less than 1 inch.

Also, I don't think that you would ever be able to put KW coil overs on this set-up not to mention lowering the car at all. Anyone try to lower their car with these big tires?
