remember that same size tires can weigh significantly different amounts... When I used to autocross pretty heavily, Everyone was stuck on the falken azeins to run in the stock class becausethe were the stickiest tire you could get and stay in a stock tire class, however they were STUPID heavy, so the guys in the know would buy the dunlop street R compound tires which were DOT approved, they were an easy 5-6 lbs lighter PER TIRE than the comparably sized falken's.

Bottom line is do some homework for sure, you might be able to find a 275/40 that weighs the same as the stock 245 or 255's...

That makes the total, if the wheel is as reported 28.5lbs. 57.5lbs for the front and 62.5lbs for the rears.
Hmmm, when it came time to replace tires, I'd go with the lighter 245 tire all around and not buy the 255.

Great strategy for reducing unsprung weight but just one problem. The factory 245's are crappy RSA's, a truly ****ty all season tire!

I finally have my software! Happy Diablo owner.

My Favorite "old car"... 73 Super Duty 455 Trans Am - 13.08 @109 mph when brand new! Just try and find one now! And I can almost trap 113 now!
