Brembo Caliper Swap

I need your help guys,
Today i ordered the Centric Posi-Quiet Semi Metallic Pads from our great vendor zeckhausen.com, and it looks like i will also be getting the Red Brembo Brake Calipers previously belonging to Freebird SRT. And since i've never changed brake calipers before i was hopping someone may have a write up on this subject.

All help is appreciated,
thx

Thanks for the effort Mike, but that thread doesn't really talk about how to properly remove and install brake calipers.

Hey Brute SRT congrats on getting my Red Magnum Brembo Calipers. I swapped with Dave Z., for his Silver Brembos.

Ultimatecarman is correct.

Remove the brembo pads.
Take off the brake line, have a towel handy for excess brake fluid.
There are 2 large bolts holding the Brembo caliper, to the spindle.
Install the new color brembo calipers.
Install the new posi quiet pads as well.

Then bleed your brakes.
You will need some brake fluid and if you do not have a brake bleeding kit. I suggest having a buddy help out. One to push on the brake pedal, the other to watch the air bubbles come out of the line and then tighten off the brake line, at the caliper.

Thanks for the help guys,

FreebirdSRT what a small world, i wish i could have talked to you for a little more when FireMedic23 introduced us to each other at the LX event. Who would have ever thought i was going to end up with your Magnums calipers.

Also, Dave Z mentioned to me that i would have to replace the (COPPER CRUSH WASHERS) would anyone know were i can get these from? And what about the Calipers, do i need to torque them up to a specific spec?

Small world indeed, when you already met the owner of his calipers you are to receive. LOL. Pleasure meeting you at SF.

You might try the dealership but Dave sells Brembo brakes, he might be able to get them for you.

Again Dave Z should know the torque specs for the caliper bolts.

This sounds like a real nice set up you’re developing. You can never go wrong with parts from Freebird and Dave Z. I look forward to seeing some pictures of your finished work. Good luck with the install. Here is an older post from Dave Z. when he did a complete brake swap on his first 300. The man is very knowledgeable and very helpful so I’m sure he can assist you further.

StopTech 4-wheel big brake kit installed!
