tire wear

Yes I had the problem and somebody who I have now forgotten told me about a TSB on it. It seems some of our cars came with the wrong alighnment numbers. He gave me the link so its still on here somewhere. I went down to my dealer and they gave me the old run around. I gave them the TSB and said fix it and I want new tire at no cost. They laughed and said we'll you will have to talk to the "factory". They gave me a number to call and I did. The next day they called and said your tires are on order and no charge. They reset the alighnment and am getting normal wear patterns now. I will try and find the info for you. It was about 6 months ago though.

how many miles did u have on the car? how long ago did u purchase it? i ask because i literally took my car in for this last week, they told me the tires werent covered because i bought the car 13 months ago and the tires are only covered for 12 months. my car only has 9000 miles, now it needs new tires and an alignment that i'm going to have to pay for! if there's a tsb about the alignment i'd love to have it so i can save some $$$$. thanks.

It looks like I am getting in on the thread a little too late. I had to replace both front tires at 13,000 miles because of the outer tread wear. I went to an alignment shop before I replaced the tires. Sure enough, the front end was out of alignment (also the rear).

I felt the same way as Humongo about the dealer claiming that I must have done something to screw up the alignment, so I did not even bother to try to get them to help cover the cost of the alignment and the $500 worth of new tires for the front.

Which tires are you running? I have the Goodyear F1's and have not noticed any irregular treadwear. Although the tread is definately low all around and I have 11,000 miles. I just figured it was the performance tires treadwear rating.

I had the Goodyear F1 as well. It was only the outer edges wearing and it was definitely an alignment problem. The rest of the tire was good for many more miles.

I replaced my front F1's at 14k miles. Thought it was lack of air, but now this thread is making me wonder. I have 19k miles now and haven't noticed any outer wear. I also had to replace my brake pads this weekend due to very heavy noise. Front pads had at least 50% left. Rear pads were worn uneven on both sides. 80% on one side of the pad, probably 10% at the other side....
