I had the rear tires installed yesterday at G Roads. Mounted and road force balanced $60.

I need a extra rim for a spare. I had to leave the car on jack stands while i took the tires to G Roads.

I also noticed i need to replace the rear pads after about 18000 miles on them. Will order fronts at same time.

I love mine. thanks to the guys on this forum, it was easy to make a good decision. I do want to add that the wider tires throw up a bit more dirt in the front. I noticed that it sprays a bit more. but the thread seems to hold and my F1s were just too far gone to be effective. When replacing (18K miles) the guys said i had about 10% of pad life left on rears and about 20% left on front. so I have ordered the posi-quiets from zechhausen along with the slotted rotors.

Talking Proxes 4's

After 5 sets of F1's I switched to the Proxes 4's about a year ago. No regrets.

They look great, ride great, handle well and cost a lot less.

The Toyo website shows NO Tires for our cars.

The only thing I can tell that is NOT an exact match for us is the "W" speed rating. They are rated up to 168mph, as opposed to the F1's "Y" rating 186 mph. Toyo does maka a Proxe RA1 that IS "Y" rated, but it does not come in our exact size (255/35/20 IIRC).

Yesterday I did some MORE tire research, looking for a tire with a really LOW tread wear rating for the track (theoretically lower rating = stickier tire) Pirelli PZero Assymetrico's come in a 255/35/ZR20 with a 140 Tread Wear Rating. They are only 27" outside diameter (the Proxes 4's 255's are 29.1") so the car would sit 1 inch lower and the gap in the wheelwell would also be 1 inch bigger.

Has anyone else found a 20 inch tire with a lower tread wear rating?

BTW: I am Definitely sticking with the Proxes 4's for the street. They are great tires and I have gotten a lot more miles out of them than the F1's too.
