Proxes

I am running the Toyo Proxes 4's 255/45/20's all the way around so that I can rotate them. I just rotate front to back. I have 14,000 miles on this set and they still have tons of tread left (I averaged 8700 miles on each set of F1's).

I still haven't found a better all around tire for our cars.

I am considering a set of Michelin PS2's but they are a bit short and a bit spendy.

Tire Shops in KC Area

Anyone have any good recomendations for tire shops in the KC area? I purchased the Toyo Proxie 4s and have been quoted anywhere from $120-$180 for the mounting and balancing. Would like to find a shop that will do a high quality job for less money.

thanks in advance ...

You need to call a small mom and pop style of tire shop for the deals since they have less overhead. I just orders 4 255-45-20 toyo proxes 4's for $174 each installed cashola OTD. I called everywhere and nobody could touch $696 OTD!

I've gone to running the 255/45/20 F1's all the way around and while they are snug up front, I've had them on the track several days without contact...and several others are doing the same.

I'd be interested in the Proxes RA1's but I'm afraid that the heat cycles as a daily tire would kill them...I think? Total wear isn't an issue for me because I only drive 30 miles a day total in my commute nd I'm at the track about every other weekend or more often.

Just got back from having the tires installed. WOW what a huge difference over the RSA's! I don't have any performance data to give but the ride is much softer and the road noise is gone. Went with 255's on all 4 corners and the front looks like it has plenty of room for a wider tire.

As stated they were 696 OTD. No ebay specials where your just buying tires then need to take them somewhere to be mounted, this was all included in the price. Like I said I called almost every tire shop in DFW looking for a deal and nobody could touch this deal. The closest I could get in price was $755.68.

If anyone is looking for a these tires in the DFW area go see D & W tires in Bedfort TX.
