Pirelli Ice&Snows on PICs

Well took advantage of the day off yesterday to put my winter set of wheels and tires on. And as I expected the ride is much quieter and actually much smoother.....Just more reasons to ditch the F1's. Figured I would throw some pics up for you all....car is dirty but the tires and spare wheels look good! Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snows 255/45/20 form tirerack $231.00 Rims are from one of our members on this forum! Thanks Frank DTPracing!

So far quick ride into work today they seem to be good on the dry stuff, deffinitly softer rubber compound so they are not as firm in the handling department but not bad at all. I waited as long as i could before putting them on....never know after thanksgiving about snow in Columbus OH... I did find out they squeel quite a bit, lost traction at a light small burnout and lots of noise people looking at me....LOL

Jaybo

I would of gone with different rims but I liked the look of the 300SRT rims so much I didnt want to go for several months without...

I have been planning to get these Pirellis in 255-45-20's when my Toyo Proxes wear out. I need to find a non-directional tire replacement, and the Pirelli's are one of the few non-directionals available. I don't drive in the snow and have been wondering about the performance of these tires in daily driving.
Tirerack shows good feedback on the tire, although they are expensive.

Joey...I wouldnt do it for everyday non snow driving I think the tred compound is to soft for any highmilage wear...but I will say that the ride is nice. Im sure there are some other good choices out there for non directional.

Joey,
Check out the Nitto NT420s or the Nitto INVO non-directional tires. I love my 420s and would consider the INVO for future replacements. (they were not available at the time of purchase).

Yeh, they might be butter tires, like the Conti self sealers.
But the Treadwear ratings on the TireRack are decent.
I think I am more concerned on the handling or steering response, if the tires are too soft/mushy.
After you get more miles on the tires, maybe you could report back on the handling/steering.

Thanks Bruno for the Nitto suggestions.
I knew about the Nittos but the tread pattern is just not my cup-of-tea and I have been trying to find something with a more traditional tread pattern. When I bought my rims/tires they were sold with Nitto 420's. I had them replaced with the Toyo Proxes. The problem is I have developed a slight right pull/lead with the Toyo directionals. It is a waste of time trying to get a right pull/lead fixed with directional tires. I need to eliminate the tires as the source of the right pull/lead before proceeding with more alignment work/cradle adjustments.

I believe Kumho Ecsta ASX tires might be non-directionals. This is the only other tire I can think of at the moment that are non-directional
Kumho Ecsta ASX
Unfortunately, I think non-directional tires in general do not handle/feel as good as directionals.

i just got my ASAs with scorpion ice and snow on today. the ride is surprisingly harsher than stock, it seems. i didnt drive it far, and im not thrilled with how it looks, but these tires DO look like they could stand up to a lot.

I too went with the Pirelli's but went with 19 inch aftermarket rims.

OH3,
Those Scorpions look like they will do a good job in winter driving conditions.

Joey,
Could this TSB be related to what you are describing?
