Here are some pics of my front RSA 245/45/20s and the rear toyo 4 275/40/20s. I measured from the lip of the rim. The rim protector is a bit higher on the RSAs so I don't think it was a good comparison. It looks to be identicle between the RSAs and the toyos. I measured about 3.25" from the top of the rim on each. There's about 2.25" between the rim and the wheel well on the rear (hard to measure on my driveway).

I have had toyos before on a couple of my cars and I hated them with a passion, so I dont think I'll ever go back.
I would run 275-40 all around.

So I went down to the local DT today and bought a set of Nitto Invos. I went with 255/45 front and 275/40 rear. I have played w/ the tire pressures from 30-42psi and I am very disappointed. These tires are way loose and the sidewalls feel like a noodle. I like a stiff tire that you can push into a corner and get good quick feedback. My RSAs were better tires and they were crap at best. I drive this car daily and run 15-25K miles per year (depending on how much I fly for work). I drive very aggressively and will do a couple weekends at the local road track for fun.

My question is w/out spending over $225/tire what tire and size would you guys run? I would also like a tire w/ decent tread wear if possible. Would 255/35/20 look too short in the fender well?

Thanks in advance
Ryan
I don't know if you done this but give the tires 300 miles to break in. They will definitely feel better on turns after. I felt the same way about the proxy 4's when I 1st got them. But after 200 miles they were waaaay better than the rsa's.

I have the Nitto NT420S and love them. I run them at 32-34 PSI at all times and they are super sticky. Obviously, with our cars if you want to smoke the tires you can, but if you launch right with the NT420S they will not get loose. Just my .02.

The Invos stick well right off the bat. The tires just feel so squirly going into a corner hard and this car will be autoXed and run on the road track. In a straight line the tires feel good. They have good grip, are quiet, and ride well they just have zero in the quick feedback department.

When looking at the charts, the Goodyear RSA and F1 measure shorter when mounted and the Invos measure taller than the chart. So there is a 1" delta and the sidewalls of the Invos are much thinner than the RSAs. I think these 2 factors are giving me the sqishy feeling response from the road.

Has anybody tried 275/35/20 on all 4 corners?

According to the tire calculators that would be over an inch smaller than the 245s. That might look bad unless you lower your car. And even then...
