Thanks for the reply
When I took it in to the dealer they said everything was fine its the way a low suspension car on 20s rides. After driving my friend's SRT8 300 I knew there was something wrong with mine. I had the tech take a ride with me in mine and then another one off the lot (we didn't even need to get in another one). The tech rode in mine with me driving and right away when he heard the thump knew it was the shocks. They replaced them and once they were out of the car realized they had 0 pressure. They couldn't tell with them in the car except that it made the thump. The service advisors are idiots. If you can, request to speak to an actual tech that is trained in the SRT. The first tech that worked on it was probably just a newby. The second tech was their alleged SRT expert. When I rode with him he was very knowledgeable and even mentioned that the other techs didn't know the SRTs.
After it was all repaired the service advisor pretended to know what she was doing. She made the comment that its a common problem and the shocks were on back order because there was a high demand. I asked her why it took 2 trips and me pushing to get it resolved?

Thanks TopFuel....so it appears that new shocks CAN fix the problem. I'm starting to wonder it this issue only impacted 2005/2006 SRT8s and if the shocks in the newer models dont experience the problem. If so, it makes you feel that if you switch out to newer OEM shocks, all is good??

Has anyone experienced this issue with a 2007/2008?

I'm going to look into getting some new shocks.

Has anyone else replaced their shocks with new OEMs or after-market and can confirm that this resolved the issue?

Hey that's my thread Lol!

Mine still does it and I have had the dealer check everything and it has to be the struts. I have gotten used to it but I am pretty pissed that since "they are not leaking, it cant be the struts" excuse from the dealer(s) is ridiculous!
I will be installing new front struts (different type) when I get chance. Other than that, the car is awesome.

Some advice....get the Diablo tuner! Wonderful.

Hey Jayplay - thanks for the reply. From the SRT Tech chat it seemed that this was clearly a shock issue, not struts. Are you saying you replaced your shocks with stock OEM, and it still does it - so now you think (or know?) its an issue with the struts?

BTW - I'll definitely check out the Diablo tuner!

My noise is from the front for sure, 100%. The struts are the only thing in question (I have NOT replaced them yet) but at 17K miles, I am waiting for more power before I drop any money to make it sound better over bumps. I have no noise from the rear (shocks).
