So - anyone else get the fronts and try to put them on?

Sorry I forgot to update everyone. I asked Advance Auto to order another set. They came in on Monday and were the correct size. They are not identical to OEM, but they do have wear bars. I haven't tested much, but so far they feel the same.

Thanks for the update, did you get Bendix MKD1149 as the replacement then? Was this at your local Advance auto, and for the price here of $65.99? Please let us know how they work out, if these are the OEM pads that's a great deal.

Yes, that is the correct part number just as in the original post. The price was even cheaper: $50 for the fronts and $65 for the rears.

Great post

I was absolutely miffed when I checked around locally for a new set of front brakes on my SRT8 and nobody had a set. Every store I called claimed they stopped selling them when it was only about a month ago I replaced my rears and was able to get them easily.

I called over to the dealer to get prices on pads and the service guy asked me if I was sitting down....$320.00 just for the front brake pads!!! Yo are you sh@TTING me Yo!!!! I refuse to take a hard stiff one like that, especially when I paid 80.00 for the rears and they're ceramic(I can't stand brake dust).

I googl'd SRT8 pads and found this thread, what a relief. This thread has been very helpful.

Thanks again, you have give a brotha hope! I'm ordering my fronts today!

Advance Auto had several brands to choose from when they looked up the SRT-8. They didn't have any in stock at this particular store, but they were able to get them by the following morning.

installed

i just installed the bendix pads on my srt8 (front+rear) and it was a simple swap to say the least! i have 19,000+ miles on my car and the front pads had plenty of meat left but the rears were at the wear indicators. im asuming the rears are wearing more as a result of the traction lock and esp using the rears for correction?
the pads are a little different than the originals in the shim area. the originals say jurid on them and have a rubber like padding with a thin metal shim, the bendix pads just have a thicker metal shim and no padding. i assume the padding may be some type of barrier to limit heat transfer to the caliper or for noise cancelation. the pad material looks to be the same and i will report back on the performance of these pads after i seat them in and run to vegas an back this weekend. also no wear indicators on the rear pads as mentioned in another post.

Where did you find them for $50? Partsamerica? As of today, both front & rear pads are the same price - $65. Please tell me if I'm missing something.

For those that have purchased these & put them on, any regrets? Are we 100% sure these are the OEM brembo pads and all pads include wear sensor?? I'm right about to pull the trigger. Thanks again for this find, Lead Foot.

I bought them locally at Advance Auto Parts, which I believe is part of PartsAmerica. No regrets. They are not 100% the same as OEM. The wear bars are not on all of the pads as I described above.
