I read but did not listen... F1 tires in snow/ice

I had no problems driving my C with F1's on it in the rain. Like the other posters stated "F1's are not snow and ice tears"! Pretty much any tire with a high H or Z rating will only get hard in super cold weather and set you up for failure. You're better off driving the stockers if you don't have a STR8 and you'll get traction, throw the F1's back on after the winter time.

Jabroni, I appreciate the idea of chains, they are really not practical or necessary in Akron, Ohio. While I was unable to stop 2 cars ahead of me and all the cars behind were capable of stopping so I'm guessing that it had more to do with compound (durometer) changing. I'm going to check them when its below 20 and then when the weather breaks I'm going to measure them at like 50 degrees.

RSAs may be fine in light snow and wet conditions in the cold, but they aren't that good after some tread has worn off. I would definitely recommend getting Blizzacks or Scorpion Ice & Snow tires for winter driving... made a HUGE difference with our 300C vs. the OEM Continentals... and although I left the RSAs on the MSRT8 this winter, it will be it's last. Next season... going with the legit snows.
