I had no problems driving my C with F1's on it in the rain. Like the other posters stated "F1's are not snow and ice tears"! Pretty much any tire with a high H or Z rating will only get hard in super cold weather and set you up for failure. You're better off driving the stockers if you don't have a STR8 and you'll get traction, throw the F1's back on after the winter time.

Jabroni, I appreciate the idea of chains, they are really not practical or necessary in Akron, Ohio. While I was unable to stop 2 cars ahead of me and all the cars behind were capable of stopping so I'm guessing that it had more to do with compound (durometer) changing. I'm going to check them when its below 20 and then when the weather breaks I'm going to measure them at like 50 degrees.

RSAs may be fine in light snow and wet conditions in the cold, but they aren't that good after some tread has worn off. I would definitely recommend getting Blizzacks or Scorpion Ice & Snow tires for winter driving... made a HUGE difference with our 300C vs. the OEM Continentals... and although I left the RSAs on the MSRT8 this winter, it will be it's last. Next season... going with the legit snows.

I hate to drag up an old thread but I'm now in the market to get tires and after doing some, well actually a lot of reading and I've pretty much made up my mind. I have decided on Proxes 4 however after reading the information on the tires if I go with a 245/255 combo then I can't rotate tires. My concern of putting 275's on is that there will be clearance issues. Many people here have stated that they fit no problem but then members are talking about "rolling the fenders." If anyone has something they could add to this I would like to hear it. What consists of rolling the fenders? I assuming that you are actually creating more room by extending the opening front and rear. Not only that but I need 4 more posts after this one to be able to PM.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

Also I was curious if any changes to the suspension were necessary as an additional inch of tire in the front would certainly change the amount of force being applied to the suspension.

thanks Steve I was concerned that there might be some geometry issues with the front end.

wow 275's with no other changes ?.
i am having all sorts of issues keeping the thing on the road in whats now autumn wet weather here in the uk. i am convinced its tyre issues i have and i have stock SRT rims.
we are coming up to the snowy time and im scared i wont get up the hill tomy house or worse stop at the bottom when leaving it.

if i change to 275 all round steve what choices do you have for those and i can go see my dealer to see what he has. we dont need extreme winter tyres here so i am just looking for an all rounder type of thing. any ideas
