Ebc Red Stuff Pads

Like many of you I hate the massive amount of brake dust spewed by the OEM pads BUT love the braking performance.

I tried the Centric Posi Quiets and CTeks, I was happy with the low dust but not so happy with the braking performance. I would feel a "shudder" when lightly braking to a complete stop when wet. I also did not feel the initial bite like the OEM's had.

I installed the EBC Red Stuff pads 7 days ago and was not happy at all initially. I bedded in the pads using DaveZ's procedures and was still getting serious brake squeal. The initial bite and hard braking of these pads is very very good, IMO they are better than OEM's. I then bedded the pads again because of the squeal under light braking. The next day I still had squeal under light braking to a stop and had pretty much decided to go back to the OEM's. I then took a long drive (300 miles) averaging 80 MPH and when I finally came to a stop there was no squeal and there has been no squeal since. To this point I am very happy with the performance and low dust of these pads, the only thing I can think of is that the excess dust from the pad break-in was "blown" off the pads and rotors during the long drive. And the excess dust was causing the light squeal, I do have the slotted rotors (not sure if that makes a difference here).

Conclusion: To Soon To Tell - Possibly another brake pad option

Dave Z. might have an opinion of these pads, if so please post as I respect your opinion and experience.
