How does a SRT8 ride compared to a 300C?

Hello All

I currently have a 2001 300M that I'm going to be selling and the next car I get will be a Chrysler with a Hemi

My question is how does a SRT8 ride compared to a 300C? With the larger rims/tires and stiffer suspension I'm assuming the SRT8 will ride stiffer but how much more? I've driven a 300C but haven't found a SRT8 to test drive that's close to me.

If you didn't like how your SRT8 rode did you change out any of the suspension?

Thanks for all your comments!

Never been in a 300c BUT my car feels very good. You will feel more bumps, cracks, etc in the road but it's still comfortable. You hear the inner cabin "thud" or "thump" but its not annoying by any means. Just go test drive one, that will be the only way you'll really know how it sounds.

I have owned a 300M, 300M Special, 300C, and now a 300C SRT8. Hows that for brand loyalty. The SRT8 is firmer, holds corners better, and really hugs the road than the 300C. The 300C has more of a cruiser feel to it. I found the 2005 300C I had to be a bit more jumpier, though. I was fearfull going to the SRT8 cause I was not crazy about the ride of my 300M Special compared to my 300M. I have to tell you I really do like the SRT8 ride - good combo of performance and ride. That said its all a personal taste thing. If you can you should ride one though. I have read in car magazines that the SRT8 ride is too firm - so decide for yourself.

My comparison is between my SRT8 and my Lincoln Town Car. The Town Car's ride is decidedly softer and quieter. Bumps and potholes that don't bother the TC make quite a bang in the SRT8.

But the seats are astoundingly comparable for long trips - something I never would have believed.

Your feeling of security and control are vastly greater in the SRT8. It steers like a go kart, corners like it's on rails and stops in Porsche-Corvette distances.

Tire noise is probably the biggest contributor to interior noise. But I'd predict you'll get over the stiffer ride and tire noise fairly quickly, particularly when you put your foot in it. Test driving one, as others have said, is good advice to see how it strikes you.

You'll notice more body roll on a 5.7, and higher steering effort on the SRT as well.

Thanks guys for the responses!

When I was buying my 300M I looked at a 300M Special I liked the looks of it but the ride was to hard for me.

I found a 300C SRT8 about 20 miles from me at a dealership, I'm going to hopefully test drive it tonight. We will see how it rides!

Sounds good. Good luck with your test drive.. Don't get too excited with your right foot.. Because if they let you.. one half press will make you feel like you just saw your first boob as a child.

Also, keep in mind.. SRT is a sports sedan, hense the meaning, "Street and Racing Technology". So the ride will be stiffer, no doubt, BUT like I've said, very comfortable and very much so bearable.

the srt8 feels way better than the C in my opinion.... the steering is way more solid, and way less body roll on the srt8, two things I wish my C felt like....

long term

As an owner with over 40,000 miles on mine I can tell you that the ride is great if you are used to performance cars.

It is firm, but never harsh. If you are a luxo-boater be prepared for a real change.

I have a section of real brick road in St. Pete I use for suspension 'testing' and it is absolutely amazing the way this car feels as though the wheels never leave the ground!

The SRT8 rides great IMO, wifey and I noticed a big difference from the C in the first few blocks on our test drive. The test drive is usually deadly, you'll be hooked Post up some pics after you buy it!!!
