so, getting the rotors replaced resets the 12,000 mile warranty, right? That could get very expensive for DCX or Brembo....

I would suggest everyone go to the Brembo site and complain about this horrendus problem (Brembo Site) by clicking on the "Contact" link. I did, but I have no idea if it'll do any good or not, can't hurt though.

Thanks Rambitt!!i just sent them an email with all of my info. Hopefully they can at least give us a straight answer. If they say this is normal....well then i guess I'm gonna have to accept that, but i at least want an alternative to address the dust issues.
I don't think it's Brembo's responsibility to address this problem, but the next one of you that emails Brembo might want to also consider including a link to this thread and the thread(s) about excessive brake dust...
According to another thread there is hope in the future, but like Rambit said, this can't hurt!

Good luck guys!
you're right but maybe they can help us get through to DCX from their perspective. Brembo has been making brake systems for as long as I can remeber and it's always been great stuff. if they think there may be an issue than maybe they can help us with Chrysler. If the brake manufacturer says timeout ,DCX may not have a choice but to listen. Thanks for the advice on the link. Will definatelt include it

I picked up my Silver SRT8 this month. Paid $1,500 over MSRP. Paid a total of $3K for the top maintenance/service package and 75k mile warranty (combined). Reading everyone's posts over the last 3 months has proved very helpful.
I can return the favor with some info on the brake problems you have been noticing. I can tell you (no names or other details, please) that the SRT folks know about this. The Brembo people were on an accelerated program timeline with respect to brake pad development and composition, and both groups admittedly made some mistakes/assumptions in meeting the deadline. The concensus solution between SRT and Brembo is a DCX Service Bulletin. Timing is TBA.
I look forward to participating here...
Thanks Itskev!

Well today I got a reply from DaimlerChrysler Canadian Customer Assistance Center from an e-mail I sent them a few days ago. Pretty much just a canned response, and probably the same one they use for every problem. Still waiting to hear from Brembo.
My questions to them were:
(1) Is anyone looking into this issue at DCX?
(2) Will the premature rotor wear be honoured as a warranty claim.
(3) Are there any plans for substitute dustless pads (?ceramic) like those on
the regular 300C?
My canned reply was:
We are sorry to learn of your concern with the brakes of your 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT-8, and of the resulting inconvenience.
All service contacts are handled exclusively by our dealer network. Regrettably, we are unable to provide assessments in regards to your vehicle's brake condition by correspondence. As such, if further inspection of your vehicle is required for the outlined condition, please alert your dealer. Our resources remain at their disposal.
DaimlerChrysler routinely analyses failed parts to develop product improvements in response to data received from dealers and the warranty system. Please note that your feedback is appreciated and has been forwarded to the appropriate department for their information.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write and sharing your concern with us.
NOTE: Please do not use the 'Reply' function of your email. If you have a need to respond to this, please visit us at our reply form (link provided below). Our system is NOT able to accept any emails at this address.
They do provide a link for a reply elsewhere. As you can see none of the questions were even addressed. I don't think anyone even read my e-mail.
