How would you rate StopTech Street

Hey all,

So I'm up for brakes.. I just purchased OEM rotors but I'm on the line about pads.. Last time I went with Bendix due to cost. I think they are lower than the OEM Brembro pads. So I'm looking for an improvement this time around. Head nothing but good things with StopTech. So I'm thinking the Street Performance set.

How would you say they compair to OEM and Bendix?

Thanks for the input,

MacK

Excellent pads.

Track capable and street friendly.

Your car will stop well.

x2. I put Stoptech Street Performance pads on my car and they are very close to the Brembo's and the brake dust is much much less.

Absolutely the finest brake pad on my car yet, and I've used them all!

A the moment, I am running EBC YellowStuff on the road racing track a well as on the street (I had to replace pads in a hurry and the EBC's were readily available).

They replaced Stoptech performance pads, so I can give you a comparison:

Brake Dust on Wheels: About the same - as both are aggresive pads

Life: Too early to tell

Stopping on Cold Rotors: Stoptech wins, hands down!

Stopping on Hot Rotors: About the same (it's early days)

Noise and Chatter: Stoptech were always smooth and quiet; EBC Yellows can be noisy, especially on the street

When these pads are done, I will probably go back to Stoptechs.

BTW - a great source for all things brakes for our cars is from Dave at Zechausen Racing

Haha it's all good.. I purchased a set and am waiting for their arrival. Since we're on brake subject. Do you guys feel a caliper spreader is necessary? Last time I did my brakes I had 1 piston get stuck out, had to run to the shop and have them re-seat it. I am not looking for an expensive spreader.. Any suggestions?
