Mopar strut tower brace...

Hi all !

I'm looking for improve handling of my AWD 300C with not expensive way...
And I was wondering if the Mopar Performance strut tower brace does really improve handling and reduce sway or is it a waste of money ?

I know about coilovers/springs and sway bars but I don't have money for this, for the moment...

Thank you in advance !

The purpose of strut bars is to reduce flex that these towers experience during hard cornering. When taking a turn a car's strut tower normally flex, resulting body flex and losing some traction. As a strut tower bar is designed to keep your car's strut tower from flexing, they distribute the pressure applied to one strut tower when taking a turn to both towers instead of just one. This keeps the wheels in position. Keeping the wheels in position helps keep the tires in the desired position on the road, and this will help to improve traction on the turns.

A rear strut tower bar is designed to work like the front bar by tying the two rear strut to work together, increasing the overall chassis stiffness. Rear strut bars minimize under steer due to less chassis flex and improves stability during corner braking.

However, understand that a strut tower brace is not a complete solution to better handling but you will feel the difference.

thank you very much for this complete answer !

I know that it's not a complete solution, but while waiting for KW kit I was wondering if it does affect handling or not...

Thank you so much again !

So which one has a more noticeable improvement, strut bars or sway bars?

Sway bars offer the most improvement. Combining sway bars front and rear with strut tower braces front and rear will make a huge difference. You may even find your self in an oversteer situation, with the car turning in much quicker and tighter than ever before. It takes some getting used to as normally you will feel a bit of understeer at the limit, with the car trying to push the front out to the outside edge of the corner.

Normally, though, it just makes for a more neutral handling car. It's quite fun, actually.
