KW V2 Impressions and Hotchiks Sway Bars...

damn...
damn...
damn...

man do they make a difference...
Had a fellow member stop on by SRT8 central here in San Diego...
BBSRT8 to do some "research"...
and we have come to the conclusion...
that the upgrades noted above...
vastly help the handling of the SRT8 that much more...

damn...
damn...
damn...

now I gotta figure out how to justify $2,000 with the DCFO (domestic chief financial officer)...

Thanks for letting me check out the nice upgrades BBSRT8...
with more sunlight we would have been able to get in some more mileage...
we'll check out the "ranch" run I took the boyz from AZ on tommorow...
though once you drive the vehicle with the upgrades you'll notice the difference immediately...

Oh and Meister (iceman),
my infamous wingman...
now I know how you stayed with me in the mountains...

let me say it this way for everyone...
you know the saying "point and shoot" right?
apply that theory here...
that is what you can do with your car with the KW's and the Hotchkis...
pick you apex spot and it just goes through the turn like a knife...
current stock set-up - to much body roll and a "lifting" feeling entering and exiting the turn...
none of this at all with the above mentioned setup...

now I just need to find that $2,000...

Thanks BBSRT8 for the ride...

oh and he is definitely getting the high flow cats now after driving my car...

man I love this board!!!
this is what it is all about...

Well said, CB.

I observed noticeable body lean from the SRT8 while my dash remained essentially level with the horizon, BTW, when moving briskly through the tight stuff together, up close and personal. (Mentioned to reinforce cbutler32's excessive body roll comment.)

Long tube headers and high flow cats are at the top of my wish list right now.

And, as you said, what a board!!

I thought that would get your attention.

At least I didn't say that I observed it "floundering like a beached whale".

OK, if "I observed noticeable body lean from the SRT8 while my dash remained essentially level with the horizon" sounds a bit more palatable, I'll revise my prior post accordingly.

Chris

I'm going sight unseen with both the KW V2's and the Sway bar. Hotchkiss is on order and I'm waiting for the good price on the V2's

Miester is a great R&D department, and his price is right, as well.

Peter,
I was really surprised...
it is not mazda suspension harsh in feeling...
those cars have to be the worse...
but it is not our current set-up either...
I would say on a scale of 1 to 10...
1 being our current set-up...
10 being a mazda...
rx8 of course guys...
it is a 3 maybe even a 2.5...
we took it on a road that had surface asphalt on it to make repairs for the trenching going on...
some steel plates...
and some bumps here and there...
and I was pleasantly surprised...
If I could do it right now...
I would have ordered them tonight...
it was that nice...
Hopefully Roy and I will make a run through the ranch tomorrow morning and see how they perform there...
Hey Meister - I would strongly suggest the verbiage you are going to re-apply to your previous thread...
and then you can still come over for beers and rib-eyes...
by the way the girls said hi...
chasb - nice to have someone like the Meister man really doing R&D for everyone...
Chrysler needs to sponsor some people on this board...
seriously...

Chris,
I enjoyed the ride yesterday also and look forward to "testing" the new setup a little more today (and alot more later). Getting out on the right kind of roads definitely lets you experience the difference between the stock suspension and the KW/Hotchkis setup.

And after I added everything up, it came out to only about $1900. So now you can afford it, right?

And oh yea, I already have the high flow cats on order

Here, here CB, I second the motion Meister. By the time I pull into AZ. to meet up with Meister and Co ( to roll on to CA for springfest). My KW's, Hotchkis sways, Kooks long tubes, Kooks catted pipes and Zoomers will have had 1000 miles on them, I will let you know how it all ran, on the way to AZ. Meister. If your wish list is not complete by then, I'll throw you my keys and let you take your wish out for a reality filled, spirited drive. I am looking forward to fianlly meeting all of you this spring, heck in a few months.

I believe the KWs make for good improvement, but I'm a little leary on how much a diff. the Hotchkis sway bars will make on the SRT8.

The size diff. on the bars aren't THAT much diff. than stock.
