bad ride with eibachs

I have the 1.6 drop springs and it seems like they have weakend in spring rate. example is when pulling out of the driveway it feels like the front bottoms out almost. Handling is not very impressive either but I still have the stock sway bars. Really looking for an improvement and would like some suggestions. Another problem I am having is the front fender lip catches on the tire sometimes and has bent the lip in the inner side. Maybe my wheel choice was the wrong one. I went with the TIS 07's 22" with 265x35 series pirelli scorpians. The offset seems like it pushes the wheel pretty far out. I see folks seems to be pretty happy with the coil overs. Would be nice to have the ajustabliltiy but I am worried my problems would increase if I actually went even lower in the front with the same wheel/tire combo. Or is the spring rate that much stiffer then what I have that it wouldn't allow it to compress that far? Sorry for the newbie questions but it's driving me nuts @ this point. thanks for the help.

Air ride solved all of my problems including the ones you mentioned. The ride is great under all driving conditions and being able to adjust ride height at the touch of a button is priceless. I have the UAS setup and couldn't be happier.

Bond, its the eibachs! mine still seem to be "settling" also. I think my front has definitely dropped more than 1.6" now and the back is still about 3/4" too high vs the front. From what I have learned here the only two good options we have are Universal Air or KW V2. The KW gives you up to a 2.1" drop but that doesn't mean you have to go all 2 though.

Thanks all for the quick replies. The air system sounds cool but I think I will lean more toward the KW's. Question, can someone explain the difference between KW V1 and KW V2? I can't tell the difference. What about swaybars? I see the hotchicks and another one out there. Any preferences on one or the other? Thanks again.

That's why I did'nt buy them. I went with U.A.S. !!!!!!! I just think Eibach's are no good for our types of road. They are more for track driving. Either go for U.A.S. or KW V2'S!!

I had eibach prokit installed by dealer when new so I have no comparision just memory from test drive. It is as most member said, it is lower more on front than rear, but still the low level is noticable compare to stock. Ride is stiff when new and bottoms out quite easy over bumps even with stock high profile tyres and extreme slow speed. Yet ride seems to get better lately (1 month) with no bottoms out going over the same speedbumps with higher speeds.

Unfortunately you have made the same repeated mistake most people with our cars have done. First, Eibach is JUNK. I have said that for over a year and a half. When I got my car I had it lowered with Eibach the first day. The second day and for the next month I was on the phone with them and everyday getting no where with this problem. I finally cut the rear spring ¾ of a coil and eventually took them off after 7 month and went with the KW V2. Problem 2 the tire size and tire is wrong. The 265/35/22 is way too tall of a tire. You have probably already buckled the front fender. A better size would have been 265/30/22 or 255/35/22. The last issues are the TIS wheels. Originally they didn’t even fit the car, but DUB modified them to fit. They created a look that not only didn’t work, but that is incorrect. They have corrected the fitment issue, now you have to deal with the weight of those wheels. That will definitely affect your ride and the wear and tear of your car in no time. Keep an eye on the chrome, their quality is not the best. Eventually people will realize that what you see doesn’t mean it works and will not make the same mistake over and over. I would roll the front fenders and get a set of KW V2. The V2 allows you to adjust height and damper (ride quality).

so sounds like I have a few problems going on. Doesn't appear pirelli makes a 265 30 22 in the scorpion pzeros so I'd have to change probably to yokahama or something. I like the 07's so I will likely stay with those. I will be ordering up the KW V2's next week. How does one go about rolling the fender lips? Should I take it somewhere or is not that difficult? Thanks again for the help.

you need a special tool to roll back your fenders. Take it to a really good body shop. Ask them if they have that tool and if they ever did it b4.

My past experience with Eibach is unfavorable. They settle long after installation and the ride harsh with them. Of course they were installed on a 2002 camaro which is a totally different car. Nevertheless, I will not be purchasing Eibach again.
