I put mine in the ashtray. That way I can close it and it be out of the way.

I can't seem to attach pics very well right now. Keeps saying the file is too big, but if I shrink it down to get close to the file size it recommends, the picture is too small.

I removed the ashtray and then cut out some plastic where it has the dividing part from the ashtray and lighter spots. Then I took a piece of abs plastic and cut it to fit on the top of the ashtray. Then I used plastic expoxy to glue the abs plastic to the ashtray, then sanded, smoothed, and painted it.

Just be carefull to mask off the front and the sides of the ashtray. I got some paint on the sides and it doesn't slide back and forth very well. So I need to pull it apart and sand the sides down so it won't bind up. Either that or get a stronger spring mechanism for it.

I have the Dakota Digital ride controller. I mounted the brain to the metal knee bolster underneath the steering wheel. Then I ran the wires across the underside of the dash to behind the factory radio. Drilled a hole in the backside of the ashtray to run the wires up to the controller.

If you want, email me at Blowndakrt@mchsi.com and I can reply with a picture of the unit mounted.
