Fender liner rub

Fender liner question...

22" tis with 265/35/22 w/ Eibach 1.6"

If the fender liner rubs the tires on top when in reverse or over bumps, should i cut that part out? I had the fenders rolled and the liner was not stretched correctly so it hangs a bit. If I cut some out, it would allow water up in that area... What would be the best thing to do?

Also, when the fender was rolled the paint did crack, going to put touch up in that area.

next will be too check if the tires are rubbing the arm!!

thanks

Norcal, can you post some pic's of the liner hanging? IMO,if they hang, i would trim a lil bit off. Btw, The reason why the paint cracked, was because the paint wasn't heated correctly, before it was rolled.

Another thing to check is that its not rubbing against your spindle. On my wheels when i would go in reverse and turn it would rub against the spindle. if so add a 3 mm spacer or grind the spindle a little to clear.

One of the other Aussies, MY300 had a similar issue and used a heat gun to fix the problem - presumably without cutting anything. You might want to PM him for some advice.

Hope that helps, Sean.

Thanks for the replys guys.

I will take pics tomorrow.

I feel the liner already got a cut in it from the rubbing, mostly likely will be cutting it and putting some sort of kydex or other plastic material to cover up the area

well, had to borrow a camera, mine is worthless

here are 2 pics of the liner, sounds like it only rubs in reverse but some cutting and modding the area with some other material will most likely be needed.

Check the distance from spindle to back side of wheel.
