KW's, Eilbach pro dampen etc...?

when I bought my 06 Limited It already had the Eilbach pro kit on it. Not sure how long it has been on, but it feels like the front struts are going out. Even on very minor bumps at highway speed the front end bounces alot and every so often it will bottom out. I don't care about adjustable suspension, but want the car to be able to handle normal driving and not bottom out or bounce like a 60's caddy. I thought about the KWv1, but was wondering if the eilbach pro dampen kit will do the job for $600. My whole goal is to get rid of the bottoming out and major bouce and keep it affordable.

Well you've already figured out that the lowering springs ruin the stock shocks. Its a known problem unfortunately and only a matter of time before all four shocks bite the dust prematurely. I went with KW's but I hear from the guys who have done the Eibach dampers that they are happy. If you can stand to wait, give it some time to see if they are still happy six months from now.

Or buy an SRT take-off suspension. That'll make you happy and you should get it for around $400 or so.

was wondering if the eilbach pro dampen kit will do the job
I put the the Eibach Pro-Kit on my AWD about 3 months ago. I have been very happy with the upgrade until recently. When I did the upgrade I understood that the OMI shocks would be compressed to the bottom half of their stroke and that it would probably mean a short life span. At the time I did not know if that would be 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years before the shocks had to be replaced. Because the factory shocks were brand new I figured it wouldn't make sense to replace them until they did wear out. Well I think I have started to notice a degradation of quality now and my guess is that in about 2-3 months I will be ready to replace the shocks.

Since ordering my springs I have discovered that most everything made for the 300C 2WD does not fit the AWD so I inquired with Eibach recently as to whether their Pro dampening kit worked on the AWD...don't laugh just yet because the Pro-kit spring set does work on the AWD so it is within reason to suppose that the Pro-Damper Kit that is made for the Pro-Kit and is Step two of their three step suspension system would work on the AWD...but alas...you can laugh now...it does not!!

Sorry to bore you with my details as it does not appear that you have an AWD...but I just had to get that off of my chest! From the Eibach website it appears that their shock for their spring is spec'd for the shortened travel and should give a better ride that the OMI's. My guess is that this would solve your ride problem as it is probably due to the OMI shocks complete collapse and not to Eibach springs even though the Eibach springs did destroy your OMI shocks.

I however will probably go with the KW V2 and replace both the springs(again) and shocks as at this point I don't have many options. I have heard nothing but good things about the KW's. I hope that helps...?

For what its worth, the KW V2's are adjustable for rebound (not the same as dampening). For regular driving I turn mine 1/2 turn away from full firmness ("+" on the little adjusting wheel) front and back. I like a firm ride. If I am giving my mom a ride somewhere I first turn them DOWN to one half-turn from full mushiness ("-" on the wheel).

There is not a significant difference in performance between the two settings (and you should NOT open them up all the way or close them down all the way. Especially the latter as it will blow the seals fairly quickly), but your butt will notice the difference if you open them up on long highway rides. Even so, at full 'mushiness' you still have a firmer yet more responsive ride than stock or stock with a Pro-kit.
