Base/Touring/C Suspension

Hi there!

Would anyone know if there are differences in suspension setups between the base model 300 and the Touring or the 300C? I've read in various articles that the V8 models have a 'harsh' ride, as opposed to the cushy ride of the 2.7. Is this true?

Hello! Since the 300C is the top dog performance model in the line, I think it's safe to assume that the ride would be on the stiff side. I have the T model and the ride was very smooth and floaty like the big GM cars. I replaced the 17"heels with 20" wheels and Toyo tires. That eliminated 75% of the float but I still got a smooth ride. I still didn't have the look that I wanted so I had H&R (1.5") lowering springs installed. I had to give up the comfy ride for the "LOOK". No more float, just feel more bumps, but I get a very smooth ride on smooth surfaces, better cornering. It only bottoms if I hit a really deep bump too fast. I had a MX6 so I'm use to the stiff ride. Time will tell if the springs make my OEM struts and shocks wear out faster. If they do, I'll move to the SRT suspension hardware. For the "Look" - priceless.

I was very surprised you did not get any replies. The LX owners that use this forum are very knowledgable people. They know a lot more than the dealer techs.

Thanks for the post! 20" wheels plus the drop must look fantastic!

As for my case, I'm actually located in the Philippines where I bought the car. Over here they call all the models "C" models which makes things
confusing. I purchased what the dealers call the "300C Touring" version, which I believe is a Touring RWD (3.5l engine). I asked the dealers about the suspension, but they have very little product knowledge. I'm looking for the softest ride possible, because around here the roads are terrible and potholes are everywhere. The T is still too stiff for the rear passengers.
So, I was hoping that the base model would be setup differently and change my setup to that. I'm just having diffiuclty finding info, since most people are
going the opposite way from what I'm trying to achieve with the suspension!

I've got the 300C w/ 22's on it right now. It's a little more stiff and I feel the bumps in the road now. With the 18's I didn't feel a thing. But now I'm contemplating gettings some lowering springs for the look. I just don't want to sacrifice more ride for the look.

Before I brought my car in March, I test drove the base and the touring models. They both felt the same to me - smooth, quite, and soft riding. The most noticeable difference was in how the engines performed. For what you're looking for, I really don't think that you're fine a smoother, softer ride suspension combination than what DC put into your model. I do wish you success in your search.
