OK, so the dealer basically told me to go f*** myself! The mechanic took it on the road with me and said that there's nothing wrong and that HE HAS SEEN WORSE! The balls this guy had. So he told that to the service manager and the service manager called some jackass at DaimlerChrysler, told him what he thought, SUPPOSEDLY the guy came and roadtested the car and came to the same conclusion that the car was within spec. Meanwhile, I just came back from a trip to NY and guess what, its still visibly vibrating. I love my car but these guys are driving me INSANE. What can I do? I want to get rid of this vibration problem. BTW, they also said its might be normal for AWD's to vibrate. GRRRR!!!!!
I had 40k on the odometer and had the vibration 60-70, I had the tires road forced balanced, Here the dealer tells me the inner tie rods where bad, they replaced the rack and all is well...........so far

Is yours an AWD?

Please post whatever you are able to find out. I have a 300C Heritage that has a vibration that won't go away 70+ on up. New tires, twice, new rotors, twice, multiple balancing, road force balancing. My dealer had contacted dcx to get one of their technicians to come check it out. I have taken it to two different dealers for in excess of 12 visits, I have also tkaen it to three tire/wheel shops. The dealer keeps saying my rack/tie rods are good (13K miles on car) but after 70 the stearing wheel feels like it is alive. It may be a couple of weeks before this guy shows up, but when he does I'll let you know what they find out.

We'll do. Let me know if you find out anything on your side. How do you describe your vibration. In my car at 60-65MPH(100-110 KM/H) and you let the steering wheel go, you see the steering wheel slightly shaking on a left-right motion and if you grab it, ou feel the vibration in the steering. Also, the car WILL pull and either side of the road. When you're at about 70-75MPH the steering wheel might or might not shake but you still feel the vibe in it. Anything UNDER 60 say 40-50, no shake or vibration. I can't figure out why the doorknobs at my dealership consider this NORMAL

What your describing is the best description to date of what mine is doing. My shimmy/vibration starts about 5 mph later than yours, but your description is spot on. Initially the shimmy, 70-75 mph is more of a higher amplitude lower frequency, more visible to the eye. After 75 mph it becomes a lower amplitude higher frequency vibration and more apparent by feeling the vibration through the steering wheel. This condition does not subside with an increas speed. Once I hit about 65 mph my car also becomes much more susceptible to bump steer( steering wheel shimmys back and forth after contacting a bump in the road). Just to cover all bases I went to the Chrysler web page and under their "contact us" tab I submitted a letter with a description of my issue, you may want to do the same. My guess is that there is a defective part in the front suspension. More than likely a tie rod or rack issue. However it could be hubs, struts, or other links. Which ever of these components it is they are probably aware of it and I wouldn't be surprised if a TSB is released eventually. I have seen several members of this forum who have described rack replacements and or tie rod replacement a very low miles. Anyway, I will continue to post updates as I learn more....it will probably be a couple of weeks according to the service manager at the dealership.
Are you in the US? If so I would suggest that you get their attention by starting to talk about that yummy sour fruit, the lemon ...

Thanks for the advice......I have been contemplating that alternative and in fact the service manager at the dealership I have been dealing with has said himself, I believe in an effort to keep me calm, that if they can't fix it replacement is a possibility. He is aware that I have copius documentation in addition to all the dealer visits he is also aware of my attempts to have the problem remedied/repaired by three different tire/wheel shops. Currently I am following his advice. Plus I believe a key part of meeting all the "sour fruit" criteria here in SoCal is that the MFG'r has to be notified and given the opportunity to repair the vehicle. That being said I am really hoping they can fix it. This is the second 300C I've owned this year. I traded the first one in because it had even more problems than this one. In addition, this one is a Heritage and I believe they are becoming a little more difficult to locate due to their limited production. Anyway I am trying to stay positive.
