Belt Driven Air Compressor...Anyone tried it?

Has anyone ever tried (successfully or not) installing a belt driven air compressor like this one below - Click Here for Specs - on their 300?

I have air ride on my cavalier and was always thinking about it, now that I have my 300 I think its a more reasonable idea but I havent looked at the engine bay yet.

It'd be so sick to have air ride and never run out of air! Let me know what you guys think!

Seen many cars and trucks with engine driven compressors, but never a 300 or magnum. I think it would work very well. I don't know where you would mount it though.

I just looked at the engine compartment, and on the 3.5l if you remove the airbox and coolant resevoir, it looks like youd have HUGE room for one of thee, youd just have to find somewhere to relocated the coolant.

Interested in more feedback! *BUMP*

Belt Driven

The belt driven compressors are nice because they pump out a high volume of air and are quite. However there is a few down sides to them to watch out for.

1. They require oil inside the compressors and they pump the oil out. You will have to make sure that you always have oil otherwise the pump will blow up.

2. Mounting is a PITA!

3. Make sure that the rest of your air system can handle oil pumped through it.

I have had a customer blow a pump up in one day by running it out of oil. However we have had ours on our jeep for quite some time.
