300C AWD lowering options

Hi all-
OK I have done a fairly exhaustive search for what my options are for my 5 day old 300C AWD. In the most simplistic terms, I want to drop the car the most, retain the best daily driving characteristics for the least amount of money. I'm not going racing, the roads here in northern NJ can be pretty rough and the wife and kids get to ride in it once or twice a month. I am in sales, so clients are a bit of an issue as well.

I have read a bunch of threads addressing the pros (and cons?) of the KW V1/2, Eibach coilover, springs alone, etc., but am still not 100% clear what will fit my AWD, who has the best prices and how the rides improve from a daily driver standpoint.

I am willing to spend the money if the best option is so much better than 2nd best that it really makes sense, but I am not interest in getting that last MPH on the on ramp on to 287. Thats what the hemi is for. Which brings me to the question of the options for that too, but that's for another thread.

Anyway, I would really appreciate a response from anyone who has had experience with this particular vehicle and what their impressions are.

Thanks for the space.

Geoff

You have 3 options for the AWD: Eibach springs, KW V2 or Air Ride.

Don't the Eibachs over power the stock shocks? I am not a fan of airbags, so I guess that leaves the KWs. Thanks, I thought that was the only option too, but I was hoping I was missing something.

Yes the Eibach Pro Springs flatten the stock dampeners. I haven't checked in a few months so maybe Eibach has come out with a dampener that matches their springs for the AWD? If not, KW V2 is about the only complete suspension upgrade I know of for the AWD if you are not considering airbags. Forum member jjhuckleberry put the V2s and his car last spring and at last report still speaks highly of them.

I saw one thread about lowering springs from Chrysler. Can I assume they do not apply to the AWD?

Nope, only the RWD. Stupid huh, you would think that Chrysler would make something for their OWN car right?!

Did you ever install the lowering prings? I also have a AWD and want the same exact specifications that you mentioned. Most important i want to keep the ride as smooth as possible. I put 20" rims on recently and want to lower the car. Please let me know what you went with and how the car rides now. Also who installed them as I have no idea where to take the car. Thanks in advance.

I installed the Eibach Pro springs and drove them for about 4 months. I had my local Chrysler shop do the install. The Pro springs worked well and were a tremendous improvement over the stock springs. The Pro springs lowered the car 1 1/2". I was able to drive 275/45/20 that were nearly 30" in diameter with no problems. The stock dampeners started getting a little rattle and bounce to them after about 4 months (7,000 miles) but were still OK. I have yet to drive my car with the KW V2s. I'll give you an update in a couple weeks after I've had a chance to drive with them. In the meantime PM jjhuckleberry, he has been driving KW V2s on his AWD for some time now.

Given your priorities, I'd honestly suggest not doing anything for a while. The car will settle ever so slightly with miles, and that will likely get you the look you ant without ruining the ride characteristics -- which seem very important based on your post.
