I feel every dang bump when I'm driving!!

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone else felt like their stock suspension was too stiff. My car is about 1 year old now and I do still have the junky conti's on, but I really dont see them as being my problem. It just seems like every small bump in the road is making the car shake.

I travel a lot for work and am forced to get some rental cars along the way. I recently had to drive a '04 chrysler sebring and remember thinkin to myself...."dang I wish my 300c was as smooth as this"....lol. I know that should not be the case, but I was just wondering if other people had the same complaint about the ride being too stiff or if anyone had any fixes.

You should feel the SRT-8 suspension . You are driving a Caddy brother !!
I think when it comes to performance.....these are the sacrifices at this price range . Although there are some tweaks you can make . I'm sure others who have done so will post up . Until then.....keep the lid on that hot coffee....Good luck , Mike .

That is why I went to the KW Varient 2 suspension on my CSRT 8. Big improvement. Now I don't feel like my car is being shaken apart when I'm on a rough road. It is costly, but IMO, well worth the spend.

The ride is certainly stiff in an SRT. I drove a couple different 300C's and they rode much smoother. You might actually have something wrong with your shocks/suspension and I would take it in.

What drives me crazy is the vibration thing ... which the dealer can't seem to fix.

My suspension got rougher over time too. Then I replaced the Contis with the new Goodyears and the difference is like night and day. Try it. I feel that the tire swap made a much more positive change than the Hotchkis springs and sway bars I have also installed.

What pressure are you running in your tires?

The 300c ride is too stiff. I was asking the same questions when I first got my car.
Too many bumps and bounces

Unfortunately there is no way to significantly improve the road shock transmitted to the cabin. For the first 13k miles, I rode my conti's on 29lbs pressure to reduce the road shock, which did help somewhat.

In my quest for an improved ride, I switched to 20" 255/45 tires (I picked 255/45's over 245/45's to add more cushion), and switched to KWv2's coilovers and Hotchkis sway bars.

Unfortunately the road shock is about the same as stock.
But the rebound/bounce has been totally eliminated with this set-up. This set-up has added much more enjoyment to the ride and worth the money. The sway bars were added for fun, and not to improve the rough ride.

Heck I test-drove a 300C and it felt like a pillow to me, at least on the highway! But then I was coming from driving Benzes.

The coolest thing about the 300C was that it tightened up when I asked it to handle. I was very impressed. But I fell in love with certain aspects of the SRT8 (the seats, the better built engine) and got that instead.

I remember the "Too many bumps and bounces" thread well. IT'S THE CONTIS, PE, they are exactly your problem. My car with the GY ComforTreads (8/05) rides 100% better. There is a huge difference b/t stiff shocks and a firm ride and $hitty tires causing the rear end to jut sideways on bumps and the steering wheel to kick on bumps. My car WITH NEW TIRE ONLY no longer has these traits and is pure enjoyment to drive.
