TEIN Suspension & 300-C

After reading Mighty Noid’s posts on this great suspension with the addition of the EDFC, I have switched my interest from the KW-v.2 to TEIN. Noid’s Charger RT looks great although I’m still waiting to hear about his EDFC installation.

I called up TEIN headquarters this afternoon (spoke w/Joe) to verify if the Charger RT suspension kit is compatible with the 300c. Sigh…..NO! Guess I will need to keep looking at the gap in my tire well and putting up with the cushy ride just a little longer.

Due to different vehicle weights, TEIN will not honor its warranty if someone puts the current Charger RT suspension kit on the 300c. Patience…….the complete system for the 300c is currently in manufacturing development …….maybe about 2 more months??

TEIN is also beginning to develop a system for the 300 base but the development is somewhat behind that of the 300c.

Guess I won’t have my car lowered before the Spring Festival of LXs. So Mighty Noid, I will take you up on your offer to let me test-drive your Charger! Watch out.

Bruno... I will double check that with my contact there about that 300 issue. Also I just ordered the EDFC system today and should have it at my house in about a week. Then have it installed quickly...

As for the use of my car... I will be at the Double Tree Friday night... so find me and grab the keys and take it for a cruise along the 405...

Noid,
Sounds good to me. Joe was very careful to state they don't quite have the unit quite ready for the 300-c. I'm sad about that but understand. Glad to hear you will soon have your EDFC system. The Fresno TEIN dealer listed on the main website is no longer in business.

I'm staying at the same place so hopefully we can hook up for the cruise....after downing some Chocodiles in front of the Birdman!

Too bad you didn't pick KW's. Their California facility is right around the corner in Sanger.

joey,
Actually, I haven't yet made a final selection. I am aware of the facility nearby in Sanger. If the wait for the TEIN product continues to take too long, then I would definitely go with the KW v.2. My C is already 31 months 'old'.

If I remember correctly, the 300's curb weight is actually less than the Charger's. Why wouldn't they honor their warranty when putting their product on a lighter vehicle with the same chasis? That just doesn't make sense to me. I hope the Noid gets this straightened out, I was seriously looking at the Teins too.

I did make a call this morning to them and yes there is a slight difference on all three LX's. They already have a kit for the Charger and the Magnum. They told me that they should be ready about late May for the 300c. They also told me that even though all the cars are basically the same, they did notice somethings different. He didn't tell me what they were. They just want to make the best kit possible so that every LX driver can get the best ride as possible.

Remember if anyone wants to take me car for a ride Friday or Saturday night in Irvine... just find me and ask for the keys... just make sure that I have some gas left in the tank....

My exact question. Shouldn't less weight add life to the suspension parts???

I know tein makes quality products, and thats why I'm in the same boat as bruno. I called them late last year and they said by mid Jan they should have something for the 300c, but it's March and still nothing. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait a few more months...
