That definitely sounds like a check valve issue. I am assuming you checked to make sure it wasn't leaking at crimps on the braided line or fittings going into the compressor and the tank.

I know you are just using them for back up, but you might want to get an external check valve. That will keep it from leaking at the tank back down into the compressor.

Yeah, I sprayed this bad boy down with soap/water and see/hear no leaks whatsoever. It's going back through the hose though because when I take the intake off the pump, I can hear air coming back out of it.

Can you guide me in the right direction for an external check valve? Brands, places to buy, etc.?
