Police 19mm Rear Sway only $110!!

If you are interested in updating the rear sway bar in your LX to a stiffer bar. The Police package Charger/Magnum comes with a 30mm Front which is the same as the R/T and SRT front but the rear bar is bigger 19mm versus 15mm. This is a solid bar, black in color.

So it is a nice upgrade to help reduce understeer. Contact Jeff at Wyckoff Chrysler jeff@wyckoffchrysler.com they have the bar and the frame bushings in a kit for only $110.00 plus shipping. So it is a sweet deal as well.

Thats the same size as the Hotchkis sway bar, they say their rear is 150% stiffer than stock, I wonder how this copares?? Might be my next mod! Thanks for the info.

The new Mopar performance catalog that just came out has sway bars in it for the LX platform: "32mm front and a 22mm rear PN# P4510842... not sure on pricing yet" Hotchkis are 35mm front and 19mm rear.

Well being the Hotchkis and the Dodge Police are both 19mm Solid Bars ... I would say they provide about the same increase in stiffness. I just went with only replacing the rear bar because that should make the car a little bit more "free" meaning less understeer.

It is hard to judge the results in my case becasue at the same time I installed the rear bar I also installed a Quaife differential. But I did try couple tight on-ramps that the car pushed bad in before and they do feel much improved now.

Too bad it is such a pain to change out rear sway bars ... the new 22mm Mopar sounds sweet ... but a bitch to lower the rear cross member to install. And also you really need an alignment after taking the cross member loose.

Lets hope Mopar prices their sway bar kit somewhat lower than Eibach and Hotchkis.

So I take it that this will work on the 300s also?

Will work on any LX Chassis (300.Charger or Magnum). Bolt on if you have a factory sway bar. If not you will also need to get factory end links, sway bar body clamps, and misc hardware. Do a search I am sure there is someone who has posted a parts list for adding a rear sway bar. For all I know all 300s come with swaybars...but I am not sure.

I believe all 300s come with the front sway bar, but only the V8's come with the rear sway bar. From what I remember, the V6s have to get the factory end links to add the rear sway bar.

Hmmm the Hotchkis sways have been on my radar for quite some time now... these mopar replacements are looking pretty good though, I'm interested to see the price difference.
