Lightbulb Question For Anyone with Air Ride

Just curious if anyone had removed the inner fenders to have their car drop lower in the front and rear?

Thanks,

Chris(Dokey)

the inner fenders arent whats holding up the car...

First would be the bags bottoming out. If you could modify the struts to get more travel then the wheels would hit the wells. this can be rectified by raising the strut towers or building a tubular front clip and core support. The other option to get lower then bags is juice. Juice usually gets you lower in cars then bags.

With the front of the 300c the upper control arm hitting on the strut tower and the fact the balljoints are nearly at bind it what is stopping you going any lower at the front

The rear is the shock length
It needs to be 20 to 30mm shorter
But once you go lower then the drive shaft hits on the cradle support that holds the diff centre

You can only go as low as the car will allow
Juice on a 300c won't get you any lower than bags

What tires are you running? I am currently looking into removing and modifying (sp?) my inner fenders to do just that. When I go to 24's the tires will hit before the suspension will bottom out, since it will be the same overall diameter I am currently running.

There are a few on the forums that have done it. They should chime in fairly soon to give you a better insight on what needs to be done.

On these cars they cut out for the upper arm and raised the inner fenders sheet metal to clear out for the tires. Both of these are on 24's

please dont answer if you know nothing about the topic... the bags dont bottom out nor does juice get you lower.... the upper arm in front is whats restricting the drop as well as the tires hitting the pinch molding and few other spots up front... the back needs new shocks and a few notches cut out for arm movement. ...........juice will help you get more lift tho

I did not cut my inner fenders front or back. the back does not touch the inner fender and the front just barely rests on the inner fender. I have 22's with 265/35/22 tires and have no problems and soon i will have 24's
