Question Mopar Lowering Springs ... With New Shocks?

According to Wyckoff, when ordering a set of Mopar lowering springs for a 2006 or newer 300C, you also need to replace the stock rear, self-leveling, shocks with new ones that are not self leveling. They are supposedly the same stock shocks from a 300 touring. Has anyone done this? I searched the forums and have seen no mention of those people using the Mopar lowering springs indicating that they replaced the rear shocks as well.

I am also curious if the new shocks (the stock touring shocks) are a step down in quality or performance as compared to the stock 300C ones. Any comments?

Not sure what the price is of the springs + new shocks, but if its anywhere near the ballpark of KW V1's...you might as well step up to the adjustable height ballgame. I don't recall too many ppl replacing the self leveling shocks on their C when they install springs...but it would make sense.

G'luck.

I have the mopar springs installed and keep the factory shocks.........

HOWEVER......

My 05C did not have self leveling shocks.............so..........you more than likely will have to swap for the non leveling shocks if you add lowering springs!!!

that would defeat the purpose of lowering springs if you keep the self leveling ones...........it would jack right back up!!!

Ive seen factory shocks here and on ebay in the past for cheap........keep your eyes open for those who have done the KW swap..........but dont buy the srt shocks.......they are self leveling (unless you just go with the full spring and shock srt swap)

anyone know if export SRTs have the self leveling? i've been thinking about putting on the Mopar lowering suspension (shocks and springs), will this mean i have no more self levelling? anyone put these or KWv1's on? trying to get an idea of how these will go on my SRT.

The SRTs are self leveling. Replacing the shocks w/ non-self leveling shocks OR replacing them w/ coilovers would be the only way to get rid of the self leveling.

G'luck.

Yes they do. I went King Springs on mine and kept the seflf leveling shocks. No problems here. Were about a third of the price (including fitting) and makes for an even better ride and handling.
