What kit is best for a ~1.5" drop?

I'm looking to drop my car about an inch and a half, and don't care much if the height is adjustable. I really quite like the stiffer feel of, say, a BMW so a set of springs or whatnot that would be similar to that would be nice.

So, would the Eibach kit with new shocks work, or is that insufficient? Coilovers are a bit pricey for my tastes since I'm not looking to be doing a bunch of adjustments on my suspension. My main goal is to get rid of a little fender gap.

I also understand that the stock shocks have a tendency to blow with lowering springs, so do you have a shock setup recommendation as well?

Thanks in advance,

-Sootah

Also, am I the only one that thinks that 22's on a non-lowered car look odd?

I have the Eibach Pro Kit 1.5" drop I also added the Eibach pro damper kit (shocks & struts) I did it for looks and handling and I think they totally rock on both accounts. Yes there is the possibility that the stock shocks will eventualy blow with only the lowering springs they are not designed to handle that kind of punishment. So save yourself some installation charges and just do it all at once. Hope that helps.

I too am running with the Eibach 1.6" drop with the Pro-Damper kit since Dec. 06 and like the stiffer handling and have had no problems whatsoever. I'm also running 20's with 255/45R20 tires, fills the fender wells nicely. Make sure if you do get these installed to get an alignment after say, 2 weeks to allow the new springs and stuff settle a tiny bit.

One more here with the Eibach Pro-Kit. I love it, great stance, improved handling, perfect lowered look. Not too low and definately not too high. here's a pic:

Where does the chamber end up with the Eibach kit? Is it out of spec?

I don't know what specific adjustments were out of whack after dropping mine, but there were only a couple very small adjustments that needed to be made when I got an alignment about 600 miles and two weeks after installing them. The tires sit perfectly flat and it drives perfectly straight with no shaking.

The Eibach kit is awesome. For a more complete setup I would look into the KW coilovers.
