Hi All,
I have a LHD 2005 Hemi that I brought over here two years ago.
It has cost me almost $4,000 in repairs trying to fix a problem with the front driver's side suspension.
When I imported it, it had 22,000 miles on the clock, and now has 75,000.
Of course, because it is an import, Chrysler UK will not offer any warranty on it what-so-ever, which I accepted before importing it, but it does make you wonder what it says about Chrysler being a "GLOBAL" company!!
Anyway, the list so far is:
3 sets of front discs.
Steering Rack.
Front Shocks Absorbers and Mounts
Both front suspension arms.
Both front suspension arms again!
Suspension and springs all round (KW Suspension)
And still the knocking noise persists from the front!
It's going in AGAIN on Thursday, to have the Upper Control Arms replaced as the rubber is split.
The wheel alignment has been done 3 times too!
It originally had the 18" standard wheels with Michelins on.
In November last year I fitted the SRT8 wheels with the 2mm spacers from one of the guys on this forum.
They have improved the ride but the problem still persists.
The problem has existed for almost the two years I have the car, and I'm getting towards the end of my tether and wallet.
One thing I have noticed is that when parked on the flat, the front tyres do not bulge in the outside, but bulge excessively on the inside. It doesn't look normal but hopefully someone can tell me otherwise.
On the 18" wheels the bulge was equal inside and out.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Steve
Welcome to the forum!
Was the car new or used when you bought it?
Just wondering if the car was in a wreck and was repaired.
If the car was used did you ever run the vin # to check for problems.
Not much help here, just thinking out loud
Good luck
Gary

Hi Gary,
Hmmmm, I had actually considered this.
Even more so recently, as when I was at my dealers getting some parts I had to get the chassis number. I looked at the gap in the windshield where the VIN should be, and guess what? There's nothing there!
I did import it through a reputable company over here, but I'm beginning to think more and more that it has been in an accident.
I've also got the address of the previous owner in Texas, so maybe I should write him.
Maybe I was just unlucky, but my wallet is certainly a lot lighter!
Cheers
Steve
why don't you go to a body shop and have them check the body with a laser!
They do that here with the unibodys to see if they are straight after repairs
