Charger SRT8 suspension, different from the 300SRT8?

I purchased a used Charger SRT8 suspension about a month ago and havent put it on my 300C yet. The suspension consists of yellow Bilsteins for the front and Sachs for the rear.

Is this different from the 300cSRT8 suspension and if so how much different will I be for ride height?

Apparently the spring rates for the Charger are 25% stiffer. You mentioned Sachs in the rear. There was some confusion a couple of years ago about that. They were listed as Nivomat self leveling shocks (?sp) in the specs. Zilla had me go under my car to check. I tore a label off one and found it said they were Sachs. I think we determined they make Nivomats.

I put the Charger SRT8 suspension on my ride. No significant difference in ride height (from the 300C SRT8, which is 3/4 to 1 inch lower than 5.7L 300C) and they are 25% stiffer. I would suggest upgrading your sway bars at the same time. I put Hotchkis sways on mine and I love them. My car handles exactly like I want it to now.

The Sachs in the rear are Nivomat. If you have a set of digital calipers, measure the lower shock tube OD. If it is 60mm or larger it is a Nivomat. Under 60mm it is a standard style shock with no load carrying capacity. You will find the smaller body Nivomat units on many of the Chrysler LX products and not just the SRT8 versions. Measuring is the easiest way to get a sound answer.

If any one has castoff SRT8 front (1) and rear coils (1) I am willing to toss them in a load cell to determine the rate difference between the Charger SRT8 and the 300 SRT8. When we started our R & D on the LX platform we didn't have access to the up-fitted Charger coils in AU.

Thanks for the quick replys. Im going to put them in within the next 2 weeks, hopefully the 25% stiffer doesnt make it ride too hard. I may do the sways but Im not looking for extreme performance handling from this boat. I have a 10 year old M3 done up to the tits for that, its like a go kart.

P.S. My rears are just over 63mm in diameter so it seems like I have the self levelling, not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing.

The suspension you purchased includes the 63mm and they are matched to the coils -- no worries. The 63mm are on your vehicle and you are installing a higher rate lower stance coil from the donor vehcile -- that result is less predictable.

Your M# is a go cart. You have to love that toy! Your 300 even with the higher rate will be nothing like your M3. What you are doing is ading a bit of German tautness. I would think you'll find it to be a plus with little loss in ride quality.
