Noise with KW Variant 2 coilover?

A guy at my tire shop said he has concerns about additional noise with aftermarket coilovers.

Anyone install the KW V1 or 2 and experience this?

Thanks.

What kind of noise? I don't hear anything different with my V2's.

No noise from the KW V2's here.

Just get the odd squeak from the Hotchkiss sways.

If you don't change the strut mount I am not sure where the additional noise would come from. Could you ask him why he felt this way? He may know something we don't.

He seemed to think there was some sort of metal to metal contact that would cause a "clacking" sound. Not sure he knows what he's talking bout.

Do and of you SRT guys feel a significant difference over stock?

We make coilovers -- not for the 300 - and I drive every day on my coilovers. There is no noise inherent in a coilover upgrade. There is noise is you replace the the strut mount and move to a spherical bearing metal castor / camber plate when you install a coilover there with be very different NVH characteristics with more road noise and vibration transferred directly to the body structure. I could be wrong, but I don't think the KX kit requires the use of these plates. There should be no additional noise.

I had a slight squeaking noise on my AWD 300C...found out that it was the rubber boot located on the fronts...I cut it out completely and no more squeak...never a clacking sound

I've had mine for over 2 years and have no issues what so ever. The KW V2 are the best.

The rubber dust/boot cover that is on the original shock. It will not totally fit into the spring which was causing the fronts to squeak when I went over bumps. after I removed them the squeak stopped. I also read in another KW V2 forum that these should be cut off upon initial installation since they do not fully sit inside the spring.
