So I have a bit of a problem....the last couple of days I re-lowered my car and adjusted the KW V2's and put on 22" Asanti's and I have noticed when I take a sharp left hand turn i hear scraping on the rear right wheel. I mean it sounds like scraping or grinding of metal. Not sure if the tire is rubbing or something is loose with the exhaust. It just happens during the hard turn then stops. This is with only me in the car.
I thought it was the exhaust until today when I had 4 people (all 140 lb girls) in the car and on both right and left turns and some bumpy roads I heard the same type sound, so now I think it may just be my tires rubbing.
After I stopped I checked both rear tires and all I found was this really dark and thick gritty grease substance. Any idea what this is and what the noise is? Here are pics of the grease and it was up under the fenders of the rear wheel wells.
Funny thing is that my car isnt that low, it has room as you can see in the rear.
rolling fenders can be simple you just have to do it slow. all you need is a baseball bat. stick the handle end in the fender against the tire. tilt the handle up until it touches the fenders lip. then add a bit more pressure and roll the bat. applying more pressure against the lip as needed.
Rolling the fender should take care of it. As for the "grease" you have on the inside of your fenders, that's probably just fly-away (excess tire dressing) that's flung when your tires are spinning. I've got lots of it myself...

Roll the fender.... but only use the bat method if you've done it a million times..LOL
Go have a shop do it with a fender roller, and heat gun to soften the paint. You'll wonder why you didn't have it done already!!
yeah i agree with you. ive done it to more vehicles than i can remember mine and my friends. i also use a heat gun.. i guess i forgot to mention that..
Tires when rubbed hard enough get greasy. Think of the little grease balls you create when you do a good burn-out. I use the greasy spots when ever I check a car for fender rub. Wash all the tire shine off your tires and out of the fender wells. Use a degreaser to get the old tire grease off too. Drive your car until you get the rub. Pull your fingers straight out from the fender well in steps and note where the grease marks are. You'll know exactly where the tire is rubbing on your fender. The body shop that does the rolling will know too. Before you square up with the body shop on your rolling bill take a test drive with the car full of people. If it needs more rolling while you are at the shop would be a good time.
