Cutting springs posts on this forum are in the same league as oil threads... fairly heated debates sometimes ensue. With lowering springs selling cheap, other methods notmuch more, it isn't a great idea to just cut them due to the problems that will creep in after you are done. Like I said, works, cheap, just not a good way to go, expecially for someone that doesn't have extensive experience in progressive spring rates, loads, and just lowering in general.
I've got another option for you our Koni shocks are shorter collapsed and the spring pearch is lower then the OE. You can change out the shocks and move the spring pearch down to achive the lower height.
Down side, for the rear you will need to "trim" the spring to get the lower height, but, the shocks' wont be bottoming out because they are shorter.
But there is one issue, Our machinest is seriously taking forever for the spring mounts to be completed.
