Failed shock mounts!

Anybody have experienced that?

Mine have failed for quite some time, im about to change them but i never trust my mechanic. Anybody had BIG clunking noise coming from the back?

Anybody have a picture we could compare to mine?

I don't think that is causing your clunking. It looks mabey a little warn but not significant. Try tightening the bolts on the mount itself and see if that helps.

last time i checked i couldnt tighten the bolt more!! but the noise was still there

Im not talking bout the bolt from the shock to the mount but the ones that attach the mount to the car.

Oh and BTW i have the Kw V2 suspension, forgot to mention that!

The 2 things I would look at are the bolts like I mentioned earlier, as well as look for wear on your spring from it hopping around.

im gonna take it apart and see, ill check for the bushing to !! apparently they fail easly and make a clunking noise, they make the arm slip knock. Last time i checked mine was in place properly but apparently i have to remove the shock and see if i can remove the bushing with my hands!

Good chance the KW bushings need replacing.
This is a pic of a rear KW shock on another car that was clunking. KW eventually sent the guy replacement bushings and I believe that fixed the problem. It looks like the shock was sliding back-and-forth on the bushing, and probably hitting the frame.
Take off your wheel and you should be able to see if your's look the same as this pic.

I've been chasing down a clicking noise coming from the drivers side rear suspension, I have KW V2's as well.

I already swapped out the shock but the noise is still there.

I also swapped the shock eye bushings on both rear shocks a few months back.

I'm leaniing towards the spring itself, the height adjuster or the lower spring isolator. The noise started about a year after I installed the KW's, so it could be possible that the higher rate springs could have ripped the rubber isolator.

I'll pick up a pair of lower isolators and report back.
