Problems only occur if the install is POOP.
Problems you can typically see are...
blown bags
stuck valves (usually happens in cold weather or when you get **** in your tanks)
blown air line
I know I can design a system to be rugged as all hell.
You could use things like hydraulic line or braided ss line instead of nylon air brake line.
You can mount valves inside the car where they won't freeze and wrap them in teflon tape in such a way that it doesn't make it into the tank.
You should never blow a bag for no reason unless its a gross defect. On our cars there should be nothing rubbing them except (so ive been told) the tire but only when turning @ full lock really low.
18 wheelers have the same kinds of bags we use and put thousands of miles on them annually.
