So am I being told that they want my front tires to completely go pizza (think of skiing) before they'll do anything?? Is this BS?

1 Jack the front of the car up and shake the wheel via tire left and right, if it has play. the tierods are bad..

2 find a new dealership. Dont risk your life waiting on them to come apart. If there is play THEY ARE BAD!! Call Chrysler Customer service if they wont replace them.. Be Nice but firm..

Thanks for the info kmoney. I'll try the wiggle test and also start going to our other dealer.

My front wheels had a lot of play and knocking sound when I held the wheel in the 3 and 9 O'Clock position. You can see it these vids.

YouTube - Chrysler 300c bad tie rods?

YouTube - Chrysler 300c clunking noise

My first thought was bad tie rods because the wheels exhibited the symptoms often described for bad tie rods. However I never had any other symptoms like popping noises, wheel vibrations at high speeds, or road wander that are other symptoms of bad tie rods. The alignment shop also said my tie rods were OK. Apparently during an alignment bad outer ties rods are real obvious because the alignment specs will keep changing and it is hard to set the toe.

Later I found my tension strut bushings were torn and the dealer replaced them. After the tension struts were replaced my wheel wiggle/knocking sound was significantly reduced.

So be carefully jumping to conclusions that wheel play are bad tie rods.

I just dropped my C about a week ago... I installed Pedders bump steer bushing kit and went for an alignment today... The tech told me MY inner tie rods were shot.... Is this covered under warrenty???I got the car used but I did buy an extended warrenty for up to 75,000 miles it has 55xxx miles now! Any body know if it would cover this? Also if not where can I get some new iner tie rods?? Thanks

If you have a Chrysler Maximum Care extended warranty than the inner tie rods are covered under warranty.
If you have any other extended warranty, then you need to read the contract.
