Question regarding suspension bushings

Hello guys and gals, I just noticed today that one of my front suspension bushings is cracking.
My question is what brand should I go with? I know pedders seems to be a popular choice, however I do a lot of driving and want something that will last. Is this the case with pedders or are there other brands you can suggest to me that last longer.
Second, do I need to replace all the other stuff in the area that might go bad (tie rods etc.) or can I just replace the bushing in question. I ask this as I am strapped for cash and need a set of tires aswell .

Thanks for your help guys and gals.

Edit I'll try and see if I can get a pic up to show what I am talking about.

If you have a Chrysler extended warranty than the bushings are covered. I had torn Tension Strut bushings and they were replaced for free.
If you plan on keeping your car another 3 or 4 years than Pedders might be a good idea. If you are going to get another car in 3-4 years, then the stock bushings is a less expensive solution.

Replacing it with a Pedders bushing will not only upgrade the suspension, help tire wear, and improve the feel of the car, but it will last longer than the OE type of bushing also.

I have had Pedders bushings on my GTO for about 30k, and they look new, I just installed every bushing on my SRT8, and expect them to last just as well.

Longevity is not an issue with Pedders Bushings, they will outlast OE type bushings in most cases.

If it is your Radius Rod Bushing, (Tension Rod Bushing), replacing it with the OE type will just crack again due to a design flaw in them. Chrysler also doesn't sell them separately, as they are sold as an arm assembly and cost more than replacing them with our bushings.

Rob is totally correct. Plus, like no other suspension company on these forums, we do not care if you race or not!!

Can you tell us which bushing it is? Judging by what we know, the front radius rod bushings are most likely what you are talking about. Chrysler calls them tension rods, and the bushings in them are not serviceable from Chrysler.

thanks

Chrysler calls that the Tension Strut.
Mine looked like this before it was replaced under warranty.

That is the Radius Rod Bushing, (Tension Rod Bushing)

As it gets worse you will have more control problems, as that bushing is the only thing that holds the wheel from moving back and forth in the wheel well.

The Pedders Part is #EP6567, though you might want to consider replacing some of the other front bushings while your at it.

Also check your rear Camber Link bushing.
You have to take your wheel off to see it.

Here is a pic of my driver and passenger side bushings.
I havn't had them replaced yet.

Tension Strut is from the Chrysler Service Manual.

What will end up happening, if it is not doing it now, is the tension rod, or radius rod will be hammering back and forth into the subframe. This creates a steering issue, because hitting a bump, it will cause lots of deflection, and toe may change a lot. During aggressive driving, the bushing will cause "self steering" and will definately cause excess tire wear. This is the bushing that I took all kinds of heat over due to me calling it a potentially dangerous bushing. Yours is not quite as bad as the one I described, but you are very close. I would not be driving very aggressively with it or having fun until you get it replaced. Now you will also want to look at the lower control arm bushings. When the radius rod bush is that bad, it will cause excess wear at the control arm bush as well.

thanks for showing the picture
