Considering Bags in the future... But don't want to repeat past mistakes?

So I really got to thinking, after seeing some vid's of the UAS setups that it may be in my distant future. I love slammed cars but I've been down this road with my last car on coil overs and it absolutely ruined the car. I like the idea of being able to adjust the ride height with bags but I have to ask, do they really ride good? I want something that doesn't bottom out, doesn't bounce, doesn't BANG.... Do bag setups ride as good or nearly as good as the stock C suspension? I am not talking about handling, we know the 300C handles like a warm root beer float... But do the bags still ride good? I live in PA and as anyone who lives in PA can attest, we have the WORST roads in the country, they are absolutely dreadful!

Those of you with bags, tell me the truth, are they livable on a daily driver, will they still supply the comfort I want/need or should I just forget it and put the money elsewhere.

Thanks!

x2 on the Massachusetts roads.

Im drivng mine year round as well.

I see all sorts of crazy driving around MA. DMC im not sure if you have made it out into the springfield area but I drive through downtown for work time to time and I swear ive gotten airborne on some of the stuff I see in the road. If I am riding @ full lock it handles like it did on coils over bumps and such if not a little smoother. If I am LOW and hit one hard I can bottom out the rear end but thats because I am tucking tire.

I have also driven on the dirt roads in Hampden, Somers Ct, and up in Shutesbury and its handled fine.... tires on the other hand... not so much ( i had a stone rip through the sidewall)

I think winter driving this year is going to be fine as well so im not too concerned.

If you want any recommendations of shops that I deal with in PA let me know and I will be happy to give you their contact info.

Thanks for the replies I really appreciate them. I just don't want to make the costly mistake I did with my last car. I put two different sets of coil overs on and each bump made it feel like the coil over was about to tear through the strut towers it was the most miserable experiance in my life, I had to live in fear of running over an ant because the resulting BANG that I would get out of the suspension.

I won't be doing bags real soon but if they do go on my list I have to make sure they are going to function the way I want them to, I want the car to ride as smooth as it does now, I don't want to have to live in fear of upheaves, cracks, dips etc.

Grounded,

I will install them myself, I have all the tools to do the install and the garage facilities. I would order direct through UAS when I decide I want bags. I appreciate the offer though!

do it

The air suspension thing is well worked out now.

My son and I currently own a Silverado that is body dropped and lays rocker on 22's. If you get the right set up the car can preserve decent ride quality and good handling. Took us a few passes to get there though.

There's few things cooler than parking and PSSSSSHHHHH! Let the vehicle down to the ground and watch the masses turn to look!

I think the zeeeet of hydrulics as you hang a huge 3 wheel is cooler then the pssssssshhhhhh of slamming a car or truck. Ive already decided my next ride is getting juiced.

I have no ambitions to ride on three wheels or with the back end pointing to the sun. I just want low and comfortable.

Ride quality is based entirely on install.

Ive ridden in juiced cars that run accumulators and they ride very smooth. Ive also had my teeth practically knocked out while ridding in a car that had neither coils nor accumulators.

You can make it ride just as smooth as bags very easily.

Now you wanna talk rough ride on air then check out a canned civic lol. OUCH!
