can some one tell me the secret to the rear end in a srt 8. sometimes on a hole shot it only spins the right rear tire and the car wants to veer right. other times both tires spin and i lock up sooner and in a straight line.
i know its got some type of screwy axel but whats up? i usually have the traction control off and am holding first

If you have the ESP completely off (by holding the button downfor 5 - 10 seconds) then you are running with no brake interference on the rear wheels. The differential is an open style, so the power will go to the wheel that wants to spin.

Not good, especially with all the torque put out by the 6.1 Hemi.

You have a few options:
  • go to a wider, stickier tire on the back to get better grip;
  • practice launching so that you don't put all the torque down too quickly in first gear;
  • install a Quaife limited slip differental (about $1500.00 plus labour)
